I have a well documented phobia of approaching books that receive a lot of hype while they are actively receiving the hype. It’s probably why I waited so long to read Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. I’d been struggling to read due to (good) recent life changes and I knew that I needed a well loved book to pull me out of my funk. I was not disappointed.
One of the first things that I noticed about Get a Life, Chloe Brown is that it is funny. I love a good contemporary romance that can make me laugh. The very first page made me laugh as Chloe introduces her suspicions about Tuesdays which I have frequently referred to as the work week’s bitch. Nothing is special about Tuesdays. Ever.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. What I got was a great book with humor, some spicy romance, and scenes that made me tear up. I was never bored which recently has been a feat. I wasn’t even finished reading Chloe’s story when I was looking up the next book in the series to see what it was about.
Red and Chloe’s story was sweet and they both have some things to work through. It was great to watch them work through them and embrace the life that they want. I loved Chloe and I’m really hoping we get to see glimpses of both Red and Chloe in her sisters’ books.
There is a high probability that there will be another Talia Hibbert review that pops up during Summer of Love!
