This book. THIS. Book. I don’t know if it hit me just right but Crashing the A-List by Summer Heacock really just hit all the right notes for me. I read it in the summer and it was really funny! I grew up in the heyday of rom com movies as a teenager and I feel like that has influenced my choices in contemporary romance. I can’t recommend this book enough.
I did what I normally do with hyped books: wait until the book is about to be released as a movie to read it. I do not like watching a movie before reading its book. I had waited to read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han because I was afraid that I was going to hate it. I really enjoy this trilogy. They do have some cliffhanger endings but it is such a great and sweet story. It feels like Mean Girls mixed with rom com and I adore Lara Jean. Lara Jean reminded me so much of myself at that age with her crafts, shyness, and being scared of big life changes.
Yet again another book that I put off until it was announced that the series would be being produced as a Netflix TV show. Surprisingly enough I haven’t reviewed very many of the Virgin River series. I did review Whispering Rock by Robyn Carr and I very much loved it! This series is so good! I beg you that if you like the Netflix series that you pick up the books!! There are so many details and things that were changed (understandably so!) but I am pretty confident that if you like the show, you’ll love the books! I really need to pick up the next book and spend a little more time in Virgin River. *Hint: you may be seeing it as a future Summer of Love review!*

Someday I will read some Virgin River books.

I still haven’t read the To All The Boys books (and at this point probably never will) but I loved the Netflix movies!

I’ve only watched the first movie on Netflix but it was pretty close! 🙂

I’m the same way – I don’t like to watch shows/movies of books I wanted to read until I’ve read them. Which is why some very popular movies/shows I still haven’t seen ?. I haven’t actually heard of the Robyn Carr book/series at all ? though. The first book looks like my kind of read. So you’ve added to my TBR ?
Stephanie
I think I just like to have the characters in my head first and if I see the shows/movies I can’t do that anymore. Oh!! If you like small town romance I highly recommend them!
YES!!! That is always a blogger’s goal. 😉
