Bout of Books 31

The Bout of Books readathon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It’s a weeklong readathon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 10th and runs through Sunday, May 16th in YOUR time zone. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are reading sprints, Twitter chats, and exclusive Instagram challenges, but they’re all completely optional. For all Bout of Books 31 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

My Goals:

I plan on keeping things pretty simple. I’m having fun reading and I want to continue just enjoying what I’m reading. My goal is to get in about 1,250 pages this week. This will keep me on pace for meeting my monthly goal of 5,000 pages. I’ll be utilizing audiobooks while I work from home and that should really help me out!

I’ll be using Bookly to track and time my reading.

The Updates:

Monday:

Reading: The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long 176 – 212; The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas 1 – 276
Finished: The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas
Total Pages Read Today: 312
Total Pages Read During Bout of Books: 312
Total Time Read Today: 7 hours
Total Time Read During Bout of Books: 7 hours
How I feel about today: I’m feeling pretty good. Mondays are always my really good day. I’m trying to utilize audiobooks to knock out my books more quickly. I still want to enjoy them so I’m not forcing myself to read and/or listen if the mood doesn’t strike. Today it did.

Tuesday:

Reading: The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long 213 – 369; The Red Book by James Patterson & David Ellis 1 – 180
Finished: The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas; The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long
Total Pages Read Today: 337
Total Pages Read During Bout of Books: 649
Total Time Read Today: 6 hrs 5 mins
Total Time Read During Bout of Books: 13 hrs 5 mins
How I feel about today: I feel like I did pretty good again today. The audio books are really helping me out. I finished the one book that I have in my TBR that doesn’t also have an audiobook to go with it. That will help immensely over the next few days.

Wednesday:

Reading: The Red Book by James Patterson & David Ellis 181 – 370; 21st Birthday by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro 1 – 50
Finished: The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas; The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long; The Red Book by James Patterson & David Ellis
Total Pages Read Today: 240

Total Time Read Today: 3 hrs 18 mins
Total Time Read During Bout of Books: 16 hrs 23 mins
How I feel about today: I feel like I’m starting to wind down a little bit. The beginning of the week is always more productive for me. I’ll probably finish one more full length novel and a BSC book. I’m not sure that I’ll reach my goal but I think I might get close enough that I’m really going to strive to meet it.

Thursday:

Reading: 21st Birthday by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro 51 – 403; Claudia and the Clue in the Photograph by Ann M. Martin 1 – 7

How I feel about today: I am SO excited. Yesterday I wasn’t sure if I was going to reach my goal. Today I missed it by one page. Tomorrow I am going to sail past my goal. Most importantly I’m still enjoying what I’m reading. I haven’t been this happy as a reader in a long while. I’m hoping the rest of my May continues that way.

Friday:

Reading: When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon 1 – 50
Finished: The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas; The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long; The Red Book by James Patterson & David Ellis; 21st Birthday by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

Total Time Read Today: 1 hr 2 mins
Total Time Read During Bout of Books: 23 hrs 22 mins
How I feel about today: See that sharp contrast? Lol. Friday and Saturday are my days when I’m not sure how they’re going to go. They are quite honestly my all or nothing days. I already know tomorrow is going to be a nothing day. Today was too unfortunately. BUT I’ve read FOUR books this week and will be over 1,300 pages by the time this is over so I’m going to take that as a huge win!

Saturday:

Reading: Claudia and the Clue in the Photograph by Ann M. Martin 8 – 30
Finished: The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas; The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long; The Red Book by James Patterson & David Ellis; 21st Birthday by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro
Total Pages Read Today: 23
Total Pages Read During Bout of Books: 1,322
Total Time Read Today: 10 mins
Total Time Read During Bout of Books: 23 hrs 32 mins
How I feel about today: We finally spent some times hanging out with friends we haven’t seen in ages. It was a great night. That meant I squeezed in whatever time I had to read between the time my head hit my pillow and my eyes slid shut. It wasn’t long but I always try to read something each day. Tomorrow things will pick back up again.
