Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous - aching need...exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.

Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take the form of either man or jaguar, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced - and keep her from Vaughn. - via GoodReads

I’m participating in the year-long read-along of the Psy/Changeling series hosted by Anne at Books of My Heart. Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh was the next book for the chat and read-along. If I wanted to participate in the chat, I needed to make sure I had the book read!

I honestly thought I was going to be all about Visions of Heat because Faith is an F-psy. An F-Psy is a foreseer. In the Psy world that’s used for helpful business predictions but I saw the potential there. I’m not sure what it is but these books, so far, take me quite awhile to read. I enjoy them by the time I’m done but it takes me forever to read them.

I liked Visions of Heat. I really liked watching another Psy choose to break Silence for a better life. I certainly understand Faith’s need to get out before she became “rehabilitated” and to find justice for her sister. Vaughn had a lot to work through himself. His past would have been so much for most people to overcome.

I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t like Faith more than I did. I liked her but I had really wanted to love her. I think part of the issue for me is that she was still learning to live post-Silence and seemed remote because of this. I think I had the same problem with Sascha in the first book.

Vaughn was definitely an alpha lead. He might not be the alpha but he’s no beta. We also got to see all of the characters from Slave to Sensation. I think my favorite unforeseen-to-me character was the NetMind itself. I’m really hoping that it plays a part in future books.

Overall I really did enjoy Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh and I’m really looking forward to continuing the series!

The books have DEFINITELY only gotten better and I’m so glad I’m sticking with it. I’m really hoping to get caught up so I can join back in on the discussions!
