Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas {Stephanie’s Review}

[book-info]

I picked up Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas because one of my 2021 goals is to read the Throne of Glass series in its entirety. I’ve never finished the series.

This is a re-read for me. You can find me original review here. Reading Throne of Glass again reminded me why I really enjoyed this series! It is such a rich story. I really enjoyed the story. The issue that I had this time around is that my brain kept trying to compare the story to what I remembered. I just ended up more and more confused.

Celaena is such a strong female character. I loved Chaol’s protectiveness. I had forgotten about that. Dorian starts out so arrogant. To me he didn’t initially see Celaena as a person but as a way to humiliate his father. I loved peeling back the layers of Dorian and learning who he really was. Nehemia is such a great friend to Celaena.

I think I was able to look over any flaws in this book because I know where it’s going. I’ve read the first five books and just kind of petered out on the series at book six.

    1. I really liked Throne of Glass and struggled a little bit more with the Court series. Both are fantastic but I think Throne of Glass would be easier to get into. I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up!

  2. Ha you beat me! I’ve read the first 3 books and petered out. Geez, i felt like I’d read so much more – but the books are so full, I’m not surprised it felt like that. I need to do a reread. Is the series finished?

    1. I really feel like it was a disservice to re-read them because I kept trying to sort things out. I do believe it is finished; the last book was published in 2018.

  3. Oh I have listened to only this one but it was 5 hearts for me and I’ve bought all the rest. I want to listen to the anthology that has all the prequel novellas too. Lovely review.
