The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news; a post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
Sunday:
Jeff and I got some stuff done around the house today and I got more blogging done. It felt great. We got the three different bulk grains into their new containers. For whatever reason the 25 lb bag of grits that I bought didn’t fit into the 25 lb container. I ended up needing a Tupperware container and a bowl to fit it all.
Today was book club planning and recommendations. I know have quite a few books on my list to pick up. I’m thinking I might try to read one a month. Jeff and I also watched not one but two Christmas movies! That’s big because Jeff is not much for the holiday season. I didn’t get much reading done today at all but I was okay with the trade off.
Monday:
Today I got dressed like a human who has somewhere to go. I thought it would help. When I dress for work it’s normally leggings, a warm sweater, and slippers. Today I actually put on a bra (it’s been months….) and jeans. I thought it would help. It honestly didn’t. I was cold all day and I was just in a funk all night. I finished up Murder in the Heartland and watched quite a bit of BookTube. I’m really enjoying Jen @ The Book Refuge. I read some today and it felt nice to be doing that today after missing it yesterday.
Tuesday:
Oh man. Once I was off work I dug into In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. I’m buddy reading it with Lillian from Mom with a Reading Problem. I was up until 1 am to finish this book. I did not want to put it down. At all. I adored it. It very well may be my favorite book of 2020. Not much else happened today.
Wednesday:
Book. Hangover. Also sleep deprivation. Not one productive thing was done today and I still have zero regrets.
Thursday:
Usually after a day of no productivity I ramp back up with productivity the next day. I made a list of the things I’d like to accomplish around the house. I got quite a bit done. I even found these pantry organizers for our lazy Susan cabinet. I haven’t ordered them just yet but they are on the radar. I also cleaned up my library a little bit.
It’s amazing what 15 minutes of decluttering can do. I did have to put my box of books into the guest bedroom closet. I just don’t have the room. Our library isn’t taking donations and I just don’t want the hassle of taking them in to a used bookstore mid-pandemic. I swap some on Paperbackswap but that takes postage and I already have 34 credits banked so they’ll sit in the closet until I can do something with them.
Friday:
Today was a good day. I got to talk to my mom and my sister tonight. I haven’t been around anybody besides my husband since November 8th. I miss people. I’m still really grateful for everything we have right now. I also finished Dawn and the Surfer Ghost today. I hadn’t read much since Tuesday. I also planned out some buddy reads today. I’m feeling pretty good. Having a strong online community is so helpful. I’m thankful for you all.
Saturday:
Today I had a meeting with Berls, Michelle, and Lillian for COYER community planning. I am so excited. We have so many plans and I am so ready to dig into them. The thing that I’m most excited for is that there is a plan. I know what I’m supposed to do and when I’m supposed to do it. It’s also really helping me order my own life too.
My Artful Agenda went through some stuff today. Lol! Tomorrow I plan on sitting down and working out a chore schedule and a reading schedule. When I get to work on Monday I’m going to schedule that too. I know that makes it sound like I’m trying to control every aspect of my life but it truly is more about guidance so things don’t go gettin outta hand or missed entirely. I do a lot better when I can do a little bit every day to maintain over ignoring it for a week at a time and stressing to get everything done in one day.

I loved your “human who has somewhere to go” sentence 😉 I can relate to that ! I see you got The switch by Beth O’Leary. I read it earlier this year and had a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it too. I wish you a peaceful, warm and happy week, merry Christmas 🙂
Stephanie
It’s been so long since I’ve had anywhere to go! I was work from home pre-COVID and was only in the office 4 days a month and that was a struggle. I haven’t been to the office since September. I think I’m going to like it!
Same to you Iza! Merry Christmas!
Amber Elise @ Du Livre
Happy Holidaze was such a winner for you! We’ve been watching a lot of lifetime Christmas movies but not our “regulars.”
Stephanie
Yes! It really was! I need to be watching more Christmas stuff. I haven’t utilized my Hallmark subscription very well. Lol
Lover of Romance
Looks like you had a great productive week there. I have heard good things about Holidaze. It looks like you grabbed up some great books to read….I can’t wait to grab up Emerald Blaze. I had a blast with Chasing Cassandra and Desperate Measures.
Stephanie
I did! It felt great! In a Holidaze was awesome! It was a nice fluffy contemporary romance! Desperate Measures was a rec from Lex and I’ve been hearing Katee Roberts’s name all over BookTube so I thought it might be worth a shot!
Samantha
Glad you liked Holidaze! I snagged it in my BOTM box but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I loved Chasing Cassandra so I hope you do too!
Stephanie
It was so good! I can’t wait to see your review of it! My BOTM is hung up in the post office nightmare in IL. As long as it gets here I don’t mind but it shipped on the 4th I think it was.
Anne - Books of My Heart
Wow that’s quite a book haul. I also really loved In a Holidaze. I also love when there is a plan and I am excited for COYER. Whether I am reading on my plan with ARCS or reading what I want like I do most of the time in December, there are too many options. I won’t ever believe that putting on a bra would make anyone feel better. I’ve never liked them. I wish you the happiest of holidays with time to relax and enjoy.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Stephanie
I’m a sucker for a Kindle deal! Yes! Having a plan means I can start paring down the choices. I want to participate as much as I can and still have some fun with it. I won’t make everything but knowing in advance makes it easier to try. Lol! It didn’t help anything!
Happy holidays Anne! I hope this week is really great for you!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Haha, I don’t even own a bra that fits well anymore. Mine are all worn out, but I don’t go anywhere, so I have no motivation to get new ones. Have a great week!
Stephanie
Yeah, this one doesn’t fit super well. It lasted all of one day. I think I was missing those days when you come home and you get to change into your jammies and relax. There’s a certain separation of work and home that I miss. But that didn’t fix it! Lol!!
I hope your week is a great one!
Laurel-Rain Snow
Oh, no! I had my comment finished…and forgot to check a box! It went “swoosh.”
Can I recreate it? Here’s my attempt.
I do think getting dressed is a way to feel human. I haven’t been out of this senior residence since March 11, except to go to the doctor once in October! Until the Bad Virus struck, I enjoyed coming and going.
I have a small studio apartment, so storage is a constant challenge. Decluttering is necessary.
I loved The Switch, and I’m eyeing Death By Coffee.
Have a great holiday, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Stephanie
Oh no! I wonder what happened there? I’m hoping to have my comment issues fixed in the New Year!
Oh no! I can totally sympathize. I’ve worried so much for the people in residence homes. I can only imagine what it must be like for them. 🙁 Here’s to hoping we’ll all be out and about soon!
Tanya @ Girl Plus Books
Glad you loved In a Holidaze so much! It really reignited my love for Christina Lauren (their last two releases fell flat for me).
Stephanie
I’ve only read this one and My Favorite Half-Night Stand (I think that’s the title) and I really enjoyed both of them. I’m so glad to hear that this one was a good read for you too!
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
You hauled so many awesome books this week! I LOVE Ilona Andrews and The Switch was one of my absolute favourite books this year… I don’t know why but it made me so happy and warm. Hope you enjoy your reading and have a merry Christmas!
Stephanie
There were some really great Kindle deals out there this week! I’m trying to reduce my spending and may have to really crack down. ?
Merry Christmas to you too!
Gayathri
I have been in a bit of funk too. I think it has something to do with the holidays approaching. And I want some book hangover, for a change.
Stephanie
Yes! I’m finally shaking the cobwebs and getting out of the funk but man the work that takes to get everything caught back up! I hope the holidays were kind to you!
