Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child {Stephanie’s Review}

[book-info]

I rolled a Mystery/Thriller genre on my TBR Monopoly board. I’ve been itching to read the next book in the Jack Reacher Series. I saw an opportunity and grabbed it. Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child was my choice for this prompt.

There was a lot happening in Gone Tomorrow. It all starts with an 11 point list and a suicide. Child always does something to lure me in and make me care.

Reacher is in a post 9/11 world and cell phones are becoming common place. His senses are still on point though. Per normal with Reacher there is espionage and intrigue. This time it goes back to the mid-80s and early 90s.

It’s always hard to talk about the characters in a Jack Reacher novel. Gone Tomorrow is no different. Reacher takes up so much page space that any other character doesn’t really have any time to shine.

Also Reacher usually reads people pretty well so as the reader I’m naturally suspicious of the right people. There usually aren’t many surprises in that regard. In Gone Tomorrow, most of the surprises are in the plot.

Overall I really like this book. There were just some spoiler-ish things that didn’t happen that I was hoping would. I’m very excited to continue the series though!

  1. I love this series. I think I’m one behind. I love the smart, tactical Reacher and his fight for the little guys and compassion for them.

    1. Yes!! I love that about him too. 🙂 I have quite a few before I’m caught up but that’s alright with me.
