Discussion: Trying to Up My Netgalley Ratio

Posted August 4th, 2019 by in Discussions / 2 comments

Over the last few months I’ve been trying to get my old ARCs read and reviewed. Some of these go back years. They are also books that at some point in time I thought I’d really like because I had to request them through NetGalley and Edelweiss. Books don’t just show up on these platforms.

The majority of my books have been requested throughout NetGalley. I have 68 on NetGalley and 8 on Edelweiss. I have reviewed 52 (with 3 pending reviews) on NetGalley and 2 on Edelweiss. The kicker is that I’ve actually read 4 on Edelweiss but only reviewed 2 and now I need to re-read the other 2 so I can review them. *facepalm*

The good news is that I’ve read several old books from NetGalley and I’m really glad that I did! If you visited my August TBR post you’ll notice that the majority of my books this month are for ARCs. I really would like to go into the new year with only ARCs that haven’t *actually* been published yet. It’s a pretty steep goal but I am determined. I even have Nevernight on that pile but I feel at this point I might as well wait to start that series until the third book is released.

So I guess I am unofficially participating in ARC August! My current ratio is 76% and I’m really excited to add those 3 pending reviews to see if I can’t up my ratio to 80%. I know without a doubt that by the end of August I’ll be at 80% but I’m shooting for 85%.

How do you feel about your NetGalley ratio?

Look at you getting your Netgalley reads caught up. I would love to get to 100% so I need to get on that.

Accomplish that goal darling, its a good one to have!!

I’m trying! August has been a bit brutal. So far I have read a whole two books. I’m hoping Bout of Books this week really ups that number for me! 🙂
