Discussion: Do you set bookish goals?

Today I wanted to talk to you all about bookish goals. Do you set them? Do you love them? Do you hate them?

Personally I love setting goals of all kinds but I really love setting bookish goals. I like to set goals for the amount of books I’ll read in a year. I like to challenge myself monthly with a certain amount of pages to read.

I like setting goals for which books I’ll read in a month. When there is a readathon I like setting goals for the readathon. Sometimes I will set pages to read or an amount of time I would like to read or both. It really depends on which readathon I’m participating in and how it’s set up.

I particularly like Bout of Books because I have a whole week to meet those goals. The 24 hour readathon tends to stress me out a bit more.

One fluke in my system is that I don’t like reading challenges. I feel like they get too specific and that takes the joy out of them for me.

How about you? Do you like bookish goals? Do you set them?
