Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I don’t get to see my nieces and nephews as much as I’d like but they have awesome mamas and we get together when we can. Today is my youngest nephew’s birthday and this sweet, smart boy is turning two today. I’m a rather proud auntie. He can count (I think to 20) on his own, he knows his colors, he can identify letters outside of the alphabet song, and he is ornery to boot. Of course, his mama and daddy get all the kudos. I was with her at the hospital when he was born. I excused myself from the room when things got exciting. I can’t believe how much he’s changed and grown in just two years.

Reading-wise this week was pretty great! I finished a young adult novel (The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson), a BSC book (Kristy and the Walking Disaster), and just this morning finished a contemporary romance (Whispering Rock by Robyn Carr). This upcoming week is a bit of a toss up! I normally read a BSC book on Sunday but it won’t be here until tomorrow or I’ll have to wait to pick it up on Wednesday. I think I’m going to start the last Shades of London book so I can finish that trilogy. I do see that there is a 4th book expected for publication now but I have a feeling this will wrap the series nicely for now. Decisions, decisions.

Previously on Once Upon a Chapter:

The Au Pair by Emma Rous
Going Down on One Knee by Christina Hovland
We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
Frostfire by Amanda Hocking (Kindle Version)
Verity by Colleen Hoover

That's Not What Happened by Kody KeplingerEverything I Need to Know About Love I Learned from a Little Golden Book by Diane Muldrow

That’s Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger
Everything I Need to Know About Love I Learned from a Little Golden Book by Diane Muldrow

I received these from my OTSP Secret Sister on Saturday! They are both going on April’s TBR pile. I’ve been really wanting to dig into Keplinger’s book.

Whispering Rock by Robyn I had about 100 pages or so to finish this one up and I refused to leave bed until I did so! It was a fantastic read and I already CAN’T wait to get back to Virgin River. Each of these books adds to my love of the series a little more each time I finish one.

The Shadow Cabinet by Maureen JohnsonI really like being able to tidy up a series and this one will finish me off until the next one is published. I really enjoyed The Madness Underneath and wanted to start the last book immediately (cliffhanger endings can be a bitch!) but I knew I’d burn myself out. I’ve had two books between them so I should be fine now. I also have the audiobook version of this so I can listen in the car during my 2 hour one way commute two days this week. Yay!!

Mallory and the Trouble with Twins by Ann M. MartinThis will be my BSC nostalgia read this week. I’m sure I won’t get to it until mid-week once I get back from Galesburg. I wasn’t overly fond of Mallory when I was younger but she’s grown on me a bit this go around.

The View from Alameda Island by Robyn CarrI’m sure I won’t be getting to this book until later in the week but I want to make sure that I get it read before publication. I have a post coming on Wednesday about review requests. I want to make sure I get this one read sooner rather than later.

It really was. This week not so much but that’s okay. I’m working on consistency. 🙂 I hope you’ve had a great week so far too!
