Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This week feels like it was the longest week that I’ve had in awhile. There was no particular reason I don’t think. It wasn’t any different than a normal week for me. There were some frustrations but nothing unbearable. I finished a BSC book and my normal read. I did some retail therapy online and I’m not done yet. We’re getting new furniture in and assembled pretty rapidly. I think we’re finally done with the kitchen and if my husband has his way we’ll be done with the guest bedroom today. I think next on the list is the living room. We still have to set up the surround sound and find a couch we like. The end goal is to be unpacked by the end of February.

We live in Iowa and we were effected by the polar vortex that struck quite a lot of the country on Tuesday into Wednesday. We had a low of -46 degrees with the wind chill (and yes that is important because it’s what it FEELS like and to me that’s all that ever really matters) and then yesterday we had a high of 48. That’s not quite 100 degrees difference in how the weather feels like here. But it does mean that the snow is melting quite nicely. On the flip side I woke up with a raging headache this morning.

Pride by Ibi ZoboiThe library will be wanting this one back pretty quickly so I’m going to give this one a go. I saw it when I had purchased another YA title on Amazon and couldn’t resist what looked like a fun Pride & Prejudice retelling. I’m not quite a chapter in so I can’t tell yet how I’ll feel about the book.

Mary Anne's Bad-Luck Mystery by Ann M. MartinI’m supposed to be reading this one today but it hasn’t made its way to me yet. I’ll be reading it later in the week as its been shipped to me but media mail is holding up its progress.
