Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This week was a really long stretch of time. It really felt like it lasted for 10 days instead of just the normal 7. I did work back in IL this week and sometimes that draws the week out in weird ways. The days I’m there speed by but then seem so distant on Friday.

I’m updating this on a Saturday morning and we’re heading home this afternoon for a weenie roast. I’m going to use my Instant Pot to make chicken and noodles. I’m pretty stoked. It did snow there yesterday (no accumulation) and the Mississippi is flooded high enough that the river is kissing the bridge’s underside at the bridge meets land parts. Have I ever mentioned my deep hatred/fear of bridges? Probably has a LOT to do with the fact that I can’t swim well. Regardless, we’re going home and I get to see family. It’ll be a great weekend. Dewey’s is a week from today and I have moved mountains to get that day to myself. It’ll be a great weekend next weekend too!

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Virgin River by Robyn CarrI’m SO close to finishing this one that I’ll either finish it today (Saturday) or Sunday. That two hour car ride one way really opens up some reading time. Lol. I’m sure I’ll have this done before the week actually starts.

Six of Crows by Leigh BardugoI was pretty close to sneaking this one in (or at least beginning it this week). If I’m not reading it on Sunday, it’ll definitely be started on Monday. I will say that I’m pretty excited to read this one. It’s another hyped book I have been avoiding. If Lex loved it though there’s a good chance things will be just fine.

Girl of Nightmares by Kendare BlakeThis one is due back to the library in a week and I want to make sure I get it read before I return it. I really enjoyed Anna Dressed in Blood plus this will wrap up the duology. I like scratching things off my list.

I can swim and I’m still sacred of bridges. 😳 I personally did not enjoy Strange the Dreamer, but a lot of people did and I hope you will as well! Six of Crows is amazing and I hope you’ll get started on the book soon. 🤗
