[book-info]

Not too long ago I came across a comic on Facebook and it depicted a woman frugally refusing to spend money on things socially accepted as necessary to live; cleaning solutions, clothing, food, etc. Then in the last frame this same woman is at a bookstore wearing a fur wrap and a bling $ necklace and making it rain with money. I fell in love instantly. When I found out the artist was releasing a book, without hesitation (and on the road for vacation!) I preordered Adulthood is a Myth by Sarah Andersen. The day I got home from our vacation, I read it.

I think that almost any book reader young or old can commiserate with these comics. I read it in an afternoon as it doesn’t take a long time to read comics. I enjoyed every page of it. There were so many that I could relate to personally. One of them even included a love of notebooks even if we don’t actually do anything with them!

The comics are well drawn and smooth to read. I didn’t hesitate over any of them or try to figure out what something was. Adulthood is a Myth is a great read that I know I’ll pick up again. It has a coveted spot on my keeper shelf. If you like comics and enjoy reading (of course you do! Why else would you be here?) then I would say you definitely need to give this one a go. It’s not a long time investment and will leave a smile on your face.
