[book-info]

I knew I’d be picking up Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor fairly quickly. This series has had cliff hanger endings and really left me wanting to know more. It’s been awhile since a series has made me want to do that. Plus it’s the end of the series so I should be getting all my answers right?

I will say that I was pretty invested in what was happening with the story. I was wondering how Taylor was going to bring it all together and it wasn’t entirely what I expected but it was still pretty awesome.

Karou and Akiva seemed closer to being alright at the end of Days of Blood and Starlight and I was happy to see that. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to find their way back to one another. They had a lot to work through between them. A heartfelt I’m sorry wouldn’t be able to bridge that gap.

The additional story arcs were awesome! I loved the story of Eliza Jones. I had never thought to question where Razgut came from. I am so glad that Taylor addressed that before closing out the series.

The world building in this series has been amazing. There seems to be an infinite amount of places that Taylor could take us to and I’m excited to see what she does in the future. In Dreams of Gods & Monsters there were quite a few settings but each one was described so vividly that it was very easy to imagine.

I’m glossing over a lot of the details because I’d hate to spoil the final book in a series for someone. I really enjoyed this series and there is no doubt that I’ll be reading Laini Taylor’s work in the future!
