Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This week was SO chaotic. I worked a few hours of overtime to try and help get things caught up but I doubt it will make much of a difference. πŸ™ Despite that I got quite a lot of reading done. I have to say I’m pretty proud of that.

On Friday we went to my sister-in-law’s and we had great tacos and played spoons. It has been SO long since I’ve played a game of spoons. It gets violent pretty darn quick. The last game I played I shoved my future bridesmaid out of her chair when she got a spoon and I didn’t. I think we scared my nephew and niece but they took it in stride. πŸ™‚

Yesterday we drove an hour to an area no kill shelter. My mom is looking to adopt a puppy. Unfortunately for us they aren’t too clear on their adoption process so the puppy my mom was interested in wasn’t even available to meet that day. They’re still pretty young but they’ll be ready to go on Tuesday. There are five from that litter and about 8 people who are on the list. We’re hoping the application is processed, approved, and the puppy is available come Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Other than that not too much happened this week. I always appreciate a quiet week it means that nothing horrible happened. πŸ˜‰

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

Previously on Once Upon a Chapter:

Perfect Timing by Jane O'ReillyRomeow and Juliet by Kathi Daley

hread Reckoning by Amanda LeeThe Queen by Kiera CassNovember 9 by Colleen Hoover

I’m hoping to squeeze in these two sometime this week. I’ve started Thread Reckoning and I’m glad I decided to pick it up. I’ve really enjoyed this series. Since I finished Maybe Someday I’ve been meaning to read more of Colleen Hoover’s work. I believe November 9 is her newest release. I’ve been slowly devouring the Selection series by Kiera Cass. I’ve read the first two full length books so now I’m going to go back and pick up some of the novellas that fall in that timeline.

What are you reading this week?

Spoons can be highly dangerous with the right mix of people. πŸ™‚ It’s kind of like musical chairs. Substitute the chairs for spoons and the music for a four of a kind with cards and you have spoons. It’s SO much fun.

It was a pretty great week. πŸ™‚

Cozies are a lot of fun. I have a hard time with some of them because I try to take them too seriously. This series has been a good fit so far. I’ve only read two of her books but I loved Maybe Someday. It was pretty awesome. November 9 wasn’t for me but I’ll still read more of her books.
