The funny thing about novellas is that they can take a character you didn’t like and give you perspective. This is certainly the case for Brooke by Veronica Rossi. To be honest I could have taken or left her in this series so far.

Brooke made me realize that she is just as confused about the rapid change of events in her life as everyone else. Life in the Tides has been comfortable for her. She enjoyed Perry’s company and that seemed good enough.

This novella shows us Brooke starting to heal from several blows she’s been dealt over the series. Blows that as a reader, I sort of disregarded because Brooke wasn’t central to the plot. I’m really glad I read this novella.

  1. I never read any of the novellas for this series, I should have because I loved the main series, but I just don’t have the patience for novellas. Glad this one gave you insight into Brooke.

    1. Novellas are very hit and miss for me. I enjoy the ones that go more in depth to a story but not the ones that are lengthened scenes that I’ve read in previous books. If it adds something new then great but otherwise I don’t want to waste my time. 🙂
