Each book in this series seems to get better. New Orleans Requiem by DJ Donaldson was a great read. I’m slowly working on getting this series caught up. I have truly enjoyed each entry.

Andy Broussard is such an awesome character. I really do love him. He’s a bigger guy with glasses and a very logical thinker. He also has a fine taste in food. Broussard is the kind of guy you want to work with. In New Orleans Requiem he’s hosting a convention for forensics and helping to solve a crime before the killer can strike again.

Kit Franklyn doesn’t have an easy time of it either. It appears that someone has taken a personal interest in her and keeps trying horrible ways to get her attention. I had a few suspects in mind but I was wrong. That’s the great thing about these books. I can be relatively sure of something and be delighted to be wrong!

The characters are a lot of fun as well. Bubba and Grandma O are among my favorites. Bubba for his earnestly gentleman ways and her for her Creole superstitions. I don’t think I’d ever eat at her restaurant though. I can be a picky eater and would hate to be bullied into eating my dinner!
