She thought she was ready to rock...
Toni Nichols put her aspirations on hold while she raised her little sister, but now she's reaching for the stars and living her dreams as the creator of a revolutionary interactive biography about the rock band Exodus End. Creating the book requires her to go on tour and immerse herself in the band's world as an insider, but can she gain the trust of four veteran superstars who've been burned by the media before? Or will her dreams crumble at her feet?

He's always ready to roll
Logan Schmidt was born an adrenaline junkie. He lives for the rush he gets from playing his bass guitar before thousands of fans. When he's not performing on stage or in the bedroom, he's looking for his next endorphin high in extreme sports. So what is it about the sweet and innocent journalist on their world tour that gets his heart pumping and captures his full attention? Is she the real deal or is she posing at being his perfect woman to get inside secrets on Exodus End?

They're both ready to experiment
Though Toni was innocent the first time she climbed the bus steps, that didn't last long once Logan set his sights on her. He's so much more worldly than she is and she's ready to learn how to please a lover and explore all the ways she can be pleased. Logan can't believe his luck. Toni's a phenomenal woman and she wants him to teach her how to rock and roll in the sack? Not exactly a burdensome task. Until she starts to get too close to his heart and takes her insider look to a place he never anticipated.

3.5 Stars

I absolutely love Olivia Cunning’s books! I was hooked on the Sinners Series and think I could reread those books over and over again. I need to continue her Sole Regret series but I was so excited to start reading the Exodus End series. Of course, I have been most eager for Dare’s story and although Insider is all about Logan I was still ecstatic to start this one. I wasn’t as in love with Insider as I have been with others but with its downsides it definitely had its upsides. Occasionally it was a 4.5 other times I was leaning toward a 3.

In a way Toni’s character felt very different from the women I am used to reading about in Cunning’s books but from the start I felt I could relate to her. She is super sensitive and is the type of person to put the needs and feelings of others ahead of her own. She practically raised her sister and hadn’t had the chance to experience being more of her own person and living life on her own term. She finally gets the chance to do that when her mom gives her the assignment of touring with Exodus End to write their interactive biography.

As soon as she meets Logan a spark ignites and Toni didn’t even have a chance against his charm. Like all of Olivia Cunning’s swoony characters Logan is no exception. He kept things steamy and although he wasn’t one to admit it he was a sweetheart. The way he interacted with Toni’s sister definitely had me sold.

Both Toni and Logan had their flaws. I had my “ahhh I heart you two!” moments but also plenty of “seriously? Get it together.” They jumped into things so fast and with these two I wish there would have been a tad more build up. Then Logan went from full steam ahead, to no this isn’t happening, to needy and jealous I’m not her boyfriend though guy. Both Toni and Logan could be a little naive.

Overall though Olivia Cunning still kept things steamy. Not as steamy as her other books but still a good read. I loved getting to know more of the band members a little and get a small dose of the Sinners and their significant others in this book as well. Reagan’s book is up next in this series which means more Trey! Although I didn’t fall madly in love with this one it was still a good read and a good start to this new series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest.

  1. About Happy Books

I love the Sinners series but haven’t enjoyed the self-published books by Olivia Cunning so far, I didn’t like any of the One Night with Sole Regret books, so I’m a bit nervous about the first book in the new series.
Of course I will give Insider a chance and read the book, but sometimes I wonder if the move away from her old publisher was the best regarding the quality of Cunning’s books.
