TTT: Top Ten Things I Like/Dislike When It Comes To Romances In Books

Top Ten Tuesday 1

Dislike:

5.

When the female leading lady is too stupid to live and doesn’t accept her world, her love interest(s), or sexy times.

4.

When the leading male character still cannot admit his feelings for the girl when it is nearing the end of the series.

3.

When there is instalove in the book. This is not to be confused with some crushing or instalust. I just don’t like when the characters are telling each other they love them at page 50.

2.

When there are too many fights between the main couple/too many things that bring them apart. I do like conflict but sometimes I feel like certain YA couples in particular spend too much time hating each other or arguing so they don’t get to  spend enough time together.

1.

When a love triangle isn’t used appropriately. There is a time and place for a love triangle and some authors make it work and sometimes it just falls apart. A good love triangle should leave you always guessing between both guys instead of there being one clear winner from the first book in the series.

5.

I love a great alpha male. I can’t help it but he has to be perfect and powerful and broken.

4.

I love being swept away in YA books by the thought of first love and all of the intense feelings and emotions that brings out in the characters.

3.

I love those stolen moments between the main couple. The ones that feel secret and are amazing to read about.

2.

When the amount of sexy scenes in a book are appropriate! Not overused and it has to fit whatever the character’s age range is.

1.

When the HEA is realistic!

ME TOO!!! I love my male characters broken and damaged, it makes me want to leap into the book and wrap them up in a hug. They’d probably frown on that though 😉 I’m with you on the love triangle as well. Usually they drive me crazy, but I think some are incredibly well done and really add to the overall story:)
