[book-info]
Poor Kit! She buys a new house and with the new house comes an old case. While landscaping the back yard her dog Lucky finds a skeleton. With it a missing persons cold case from the 60s resurfaces. Of course in true Donaldson form, there is a lot more going on during this book besides the cold case. A few current cases and hobbies keep you distracted from any one detail.
Donaldson is always great for including random facts and trivia in his books. I always enjoy it when Brussard shares the wealth of information that he has stored up there in that noggin. I think I’m making the story sound cluttered but it flows smoothly and quickly. The book easily stands alone by itself but is part of a series.
Once again I really enjoyed the story and the fact that the villain stayed to the shadows until Donaldson was ready to reveal him. I would have never guessed who it ended up being but it made sense. The one problem that I have is that once again Kit has to be saved by the men of her life. She’s a smart, well-educated woman but always manages to get herself into some situation where she needs to be saved by the men in her life. Other than that, it was a pretty good book and I do plan on continuing the series.
