Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One thing is certain, being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride. - via GoodReads
This book will grab your attention from the start. Who wouldn’t want to wake up with a sexy man by your side who doesn’t have his shirt on.
The book started with my attention because as I said hot man… shirt off… need I state more… sigh I guess I better. So this story was interesting because the main characters do not know each other that well when the book starts and they go down a path that makes the reader think they won’t bother to get to know each other. I loved how the author took a risk with this book by making the leading man a jerk during the beginning of the book. David certainly has his issues and you just get a sense that you don’t like him from the start. How am I suppose to fall for a man who seems like a complete jerk. What ended up drawing my attention was a secondary character who stepped up to the plate in the beginning of the book, David’s band member named Mal. Now Mal was funny and sarcastic and there for our girl Evelyn from the start of the book. I became very attached to Mal over the course of this story so I’m glad his book is the second book in this series.
Anyway to get back on track David was a jerk and Evelyn was just trying to pull the pieces of her life together. I did enjoy the rest of the book because the main couple finally get some time to get away with one another to experience one another alone. They learn things about each other and yes they do steam up those sheets. Plus did we really expect Evelyn to resist a hot rocker?! I really fell for David and Evelyn as a couple. I can’t quite put my finger on why they worked so well for me but the author just made them feel like real people with real problems. I enjoyed watching their romance grow and yes at times it hit walls but that was what made it so much more! I have to give props to the author for providing this die hard romance fan with a romance that felt real.
Overall, I don’t want to tell the whole plot but I really highly enjoyed this story. I was so involved that I was riding the emotional roller coaster with the couple and I actually cried while reading this book that was how much it got to me. It was truly a great romance story and I for one can not wait to keep reading on with this series. Plus remember Mal.. as I said his book is next and ladies eat your hearts out because I’m sure I’m going to want to claim Mal for myself.
