I had seen Level Up by Gene Luen Yang on a few book blogs. It caught my interest because it’s a book with a video game cover. Two of my favorite things are books and video games. (I’m a sucker for The Sims.)
Level Up was a cute story with a deeper meaning about how our expectations and that of our parents can differ greatly. It also shows us that as children we don’t think our parents know much and as adults we learn that they knew far more than they let on. Level Up was a quick read with great artwork and a story that has a great lesson for us all.
