Review: It Takes Two to Tangle by Theresa Romain

I came across It Takes Two to Tangle by Theresa Romain thanks to Twitter. The author was offering her second novel in the series to bloggers and I was in the mood for historical romance. I didn’t check and the social media sites until after I’d finished and I’m glad I did. It Takes Two to Tangle wasn’t getting stellar reviews but I really enjoyed it!

Henry comes back from the Napoleonic War a wounded but determined man. He’s convinced he can fit himself back into English Society if he tries enough. Frances is a woman who understands that she will not find a lofty place amongst English Society. Henry knows that Frances is the key to getting to her cousin and companion, the widowed Lady Stratton. And Lady Stratton is the key to a place among Society.

I really enjoyed watching Henry and Frances work together and sometimes against each other. The setting and secondary characters were fun to read about and the ending tugged at my heartstrings. Overall I really enjoyed this book and it made me eager to read the rest of the series!
