Mini-Review: Sailor Moon Pretty Guardian Vol 1 by Naoko Takeuchi

Review Banner

Sailor Moon Pretty Guardian Vol 1 by Naoko Takeuchi was my first introduction to manga. I wasn’t really sure that I would enjoy it. I went into it with the wrong mindset thinking it was “childish”. Had I looked at it as another form of art I would have realized that it really has a lot to offer. So basically I went into this with a really negative mindset and came out the other side giving it a four star review.

In the first volume of the Sailor Moon series, we spend much of the time acquiring the Sailor Moon team. We have of course Usagi who will become Sailor Moon, a mysterious cat with a white crescent on her forehead, and girls who will later become Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. OH! There’s also this mysterious guy who goes by Tuxedo Mask and he and Sailor Moon totally have something going on.

I really surprised myself by enjoying this one so much so that I’m going to read the entire series. Thank goodness for the library because these manga books are not cheap. 🙂

    1. Thank goodness for my library. Manga is a small investment. 🙂 I’ll have to check out yaoi. Thanks for mentioning it!
