Thinking About…Vampire Academy
Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series. I loved it when I first read it and flew through the series over Winter Break a couple years ago. Needless to say I was super excited when I found out they were making a movie. Of course, when any book gets turned into a movie you get nervous that they won’t do it justice. After a while you have to remind yourself that there is no way the movie is going to be as amazing as the book. You can only hope it will do its best and not leave you too disappointed.
I finally had the chance to go see the movie. I will admit the first time I saw the trailer I wasn’t 100% sure about it for about a second and then I was like but THEY FINALLY MADE THE MOVIE!!! I couldn’t wait to see it. I liked the music video trailer for the movie which made me even more excited to see it (youtube link here). I decided since it had been a long time since I read the books I would reread Vampire Academy the night before the I went to see the movie. Maybe not the best idea. I am sort of glad I reread it right before and then not so much.
Going into the movie I already gave myself the pep-talk about the fact that the book will always be better than what they can put on the screen. The movie started and I was bursting with excitement. No joke I was silently shouting with joy that I finally made it to the theater. I can honestly say I enjoyed the movie and hope it did well enough that they can make the next one. When I went there were about 8 people in the theater. It was a Sunday so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I loved the actors. I thought they did great with their characters. I loved Zoey as Rose. I thought she was pretty awesome. Although I went in expecting differences it was still hard not to point little things out. There were one or two things that made me wonder, “Why?” but meh. Not a big deal. I still thought the movie was pretty great. I would definitely watch it again and my fingers are crossed that they get to keep making the movies. I think these movies could become amazing the farther along they go. If you’ve read the series you know they just get more intense.
Did you see the movie? What do you think?
