Today is the 24 hour read-a-thon! I do try to participate in this every time it comes around but it is always difficult since I’m always in school during the read-a-thons. However, I am hoping to get to some homework and reading for fun today.

Intro Meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Arizona, United States

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I’m in the middle of several books but I’m very interested in seeing where Throne of Glass goes.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

I don’t snack when I read.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I’m currently a nuclear medicine student who has a tough time finding the time or energy to read so this read-a-thon will hopefully allow me a day to catch up on all those great reads I own.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

This time I’m going to try to fit some homework hours in as well so I’m trying to motivate myself to get some reading done and some homework.

Looks like you’re doing well on the reading so far – and a good multitasker!

No snacking while reading? How do you survive!?!? πŸ™‚

I’ll be checking back here off and on today to keep you going.

    Haiku –

    Read-A-Thons are fun
    Snacks with books are dangerous
    Read harder! Read More!

  3. Michael

All done with the Dark lord? πŸ™‚ It’s a fun book for sure. Hope you’re still doing well with your reading!

    A little inspiration for you:
β€œIf one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”
    ― Oscar Wilde

Yes – I think I need to have a list like that as well. Things that are “human”. πŸ™‚

How’s your stack coming along? Any favourite’s that you’d like to mention?

I’m on Infinite Kung-Fu – not really a serious read, but nicely entertaining. πŸ™‚

Another quote to keep you going:

β€œReading is the sole means by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another’s skin, another’s voice, another’s soul.”
    ― Joyce Carol Oates

So far all I’ve read is Harry Potter #4. I’ve been working on homework for the past few hours as I have several projects due on Monday. I hope to read Throne of Glass after dinner. I started it before the read-a-thon so I hope to finish it today. I hope your pile is coming along! Happy reading!

Looks like you’re making some progress. I wish I had some novellas I could read to make me feel more accomplished. At this rate, I think I’m only going to finish 2 books for this readathon. I guess 2 is better than zero.

  6. Michael

Having trouble staying with it or getting a little sleepy?
Drink water – Have a shower – Or go for a walk if you’re able.

    I like Groucho sometimes. πŸ™‚

β€œI find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.”
    ― Groucho Marx

I’m making my way around again – seeing who’s still hanging on and who’s been reasonable and actually gone to sleep. πŸ™‚ Looks like you may have fallen into the sleep pile.

    Went for walk? – Check
    Had a Shower? – Check
Yawned a billion times? – Check

A quote reasonable for this hour.::grin::

β€œSleep is good, he said, And books are better.”
    ― George R.R. Martin

My last reply for the event. Congrats on all the reading you did! We didn’t really stay up for the whole thing as we wanted to, but some of us made it to about 3 in the morning.

Hope to see you again next year! Happy reading. πŸ™‚
