Stephanie Reviews 12th of Never by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

12th of Never by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

12th of Never by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro is yet another mediocre book to add to the series. I honestly don’t know why I keep reading this series. First of all the book is just over 400 pages in the hardcover version (with slightly large text). When you add to that the fact that there about four different story lines to follow in the book, the book flies by. Sounds good right? It’s the type of flying by that leaves you feeling like your head is spinning and that you missed something along the way.

To be honest this book makes me feel like my life is as dull as dishwater. Seriously the characters in this series never have a moment to breath. I enjoy the fast paced action and I still care for the characters and I think that’s part of my problem. I enjoy a lot of character centric stories and this one has SO much going on that it feels like the characters are sacrificed for the action of the book. I keep saying that I won’t invest any more money into the series and then I do. I think that with the next book I’ll buy it used once it hits a reasonable price on Half.

The bottom line here is that the Women’s Murder Club is becoming a guilty indulgence that doesn’t really satisfy.

  1. Read a lot of reviews and nobody noticed that Julie had a 103 temp, later Boxer went home and was surprised by her friends with gifts and playing with Julie, then later in the story Boxer comes home concerned about Julie’s 102 temp and calls the doctor. Now was all this out of sequence in my electronic book from NOOK or was it like that in the book, and if so, why didn’t anybody mention it in a review?

    1. I couldn’t tell you about the sequence of the book. I have the Kindle version. To be honest, when I’m reading a book I rarely pay attention to such discrepancies which is why it wouldn’t have made an appearance in my review. I tend to focus more on characters and their development. Thanks for stopping by and asking! I’m sorry I couldn’t have been of more help!
