Girl Behind the Blog: More Romance?!

Lately I have been feeling like I don’t read enough adult romance books!

I feel like I have all of these great adult titles and series to catch up on and I never find the time between all of the young adult books I read. I’m not saying I don’t love teen books but sometimes you just want more! More sex, more mature language, mature themes and scenes where couples can connect on a level that they can not in teen books. Heck I even just would settle for reading an adult urban fantasy book that didn’t have many sex scenes but at least had mature thoughts and ideas in the story.

I just feel like I’m missing out and that everyone else on the blog reviews more adult books than I do.

When Deb and Pragya were added to the review team we here at Pages of Forbidden Love were able to have a plethora of adult reviews because those are the books that these ladies are reading. Heck I even got Bianca hooked on adult books and she loves the Black Dagger Brotherhood series now! So why is it that I feel like I’m no allowed to read and review smut on the blog. Well this is a great question.

I guess I just feel that we started as a young adult blog with a side of adult and now things are shaken up a bit from where we first started. I know Bianca and I still mainly review teen novels but I hope everyone is ok with us also review adult books.

So what do you all think? Should Pages of Forbidden Love review more adult reads?

Here are some of the unread adult books sitting on my shelves…just thought some book cover eye candy was in order!

The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1)

Awaken Me Darkly (Alien Huntress, #1)

Sacrificial Magic (Downside Ghosts, #4)

Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1)

When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #1)

Once Burned (Night Prince, #1)

Changing The Game (Play By Play, #2)

Sweet Surrender (Sweet, #1)

Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1)

I think you should read whatever it is you want to read! You may have started as a young adult blog but I know very few bloggers who only read one genre so why should you have to? 🙂

If you’re anything like me…. if I try to pigeonhole myself into one genre I end up resenting my favorite hobby. Something else to keep in mind is that a lot of people follow bloggers for who they are. They may have found you through what you read but they stick around for the awesomeness that is you! 🙂

Read some smut and feel better. LOL!

Ok… I do think you should review more adult books…. let’s say 75% adult and 25% YA… OR 50/50.. but if you do, does that mean I’m out of a job? LOL!! I also read Awaken Me Darkly along time ago and if I remember correctly it wasn’t half bad… Once Bitten, I loved!!! Team Vlad all the way!! Well, cuz, I honestly think you should review what you want… whatever your feelin’ like reading at the time… review it… who cares if it’s Adult or YA…

Alexa, I’m all for you reading more adult and reviewing on the blog. Your blog gave me space to read all the Adult I wanted to and I would love for you to be able to read what you want to. Those books there look yum. Look forward to your reviews especially to Changing the Game. Never heard of it but it does look good!

I think you should read whatever you want to read. My blog started out with a lot of YA reviews, not be/c it was a YA blog, but b/c that is what I was into at the time. I feel like I read mostly adult romance these days, and I couldn’t be happier. Your blog is yours to do what you wish. Enjoy!
