It’s important that if you are re-reading this series that you answer the questions based only on the knowledge that we have so far!

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire opens with a murder. Clearly we’re in for a darker book. Thoughts?

I’m excited to see the series take a more serious angle. In the previous books the threat of Voldemort hasn’t seemed real. It seems like the only threat from Voldemort is that he wants Harry dead. As far as the rest of the wizarding world goes, they seem pretty safe as long as they aren’t Harry Potter. In the first chapter or Goblet of Fire we see that Voldemort isn’t afraid to do what he feels is necessary to succeed in his plans.

2. Fred and George Weasley are entrepeuners. Have you ever thought of running your own small business?

To be honest, who hasn’t thought of running a bookstore for a living? I mean it seems like such a dream job. For me though the realities of it is what has stopped me from chasing that dream. The world we live in now doesn’t read as much as it used to. (I’ve seen a big jump in that from being able to interact with readers online!) The area that I live in is not big on reading at all. A bookstore here would never survive. On top of that I don’t know that I’d be very successful because I’d have a tendency to stock the books I like to read and would probably isolate potential customers unintentionally.

3. Wizarding tents are awesome! Do you tent camp? Would you if our tents were like wizarding tents?

I actually do tent camp but it’s actually pretty luxurious for tent camping. For two people we have a ten person tent that pretty much sets up itself. It has poles that retract so no trying to figure out how the poles go into the tent. We have an inflatable queen size bed and we take pillows and blankets. We take our propane cook stove, pots, pans, and utensils. I have to say that it is very comfortable and isn’t roughing it at all. I still wouldn’t say no to a magical tent that had all of that set up for me! πŸ™‚

4. Dobby news! What do you think of Winky’s attitude towards an emancipated Dobby?

I have to say that I am proud of Dobby and a little shocked at how he is being received by the house elf community. It’s been two years since we last heard about Dobby and I’m so glad that he’s asking for wages for his work! I suppose when you’re the first of a group to try something radical and different, you will always attract haters first and then start to change people and their thinking.

5. What did you think of the Quidditch World Cup? The Team Mascots?

I wish so much that I could have been there! It sounds like the Super Bowl but so much better. (On a side note: doesn’t everything sound better in the wizarding world?) It’s a shame that the game didn’t last longer. It was awfully intense for the short amount of time that it lasted. I really liked the leprechauns but wasn’t too impressed with the veela. Maybe that’s the woman in me speaking but I don’t see what was so impressive about them. I’ve also been trying to figure out if they appeal to certain personality types. Hermione wasn’t bothered by them and neither was Mr. Weasley but the Quidditch referee was so it can’t be based on age or experience.

Ya can you imagine if you paid all that money for a ticket to the superbowl and then the game was like 15 minutes long? haha. Refund! But I agree, everything’s better in the wizarding world. I love that JK takes even the tiniest characters like Dobby and gives them their own story line. And I never really thought about it like that, but it’s true that before this book the other wizards don’t really feel the full threat of Voldie. Oh and I’d love to open a bookstore. Your answer made me think of that movie You’ve Got Mail where the small bookstore is being put out of business by the Barnes&Noble type store.
