I have big plans for Once Upon a Chapter! Part of those big plans include getting a bunch of little stuff done. Rather than try to break it out by day I simply have a list of goals I’d like to accomplish this weekend:

  • Participate in at least three mini-challenges.
  • Complete Blog Smarter
  • Schedule Ruby’s April Event Announcement
  • Tweak new web design:
    1. Finalize header
Remove borders from Thesis (even if it kills me)
Teach myself how to add customized/graphic widget titles I decided that the graphics that I did have just wouldn’t mesh well with my new design and I’m okay with simple text. Maybe I’ll look back at this later.
      Create a My Thoughts/Review button
Pick out fonts and appoint to correct CSS
      Find a background color/graphic

  • Create a page for book swapping
  • Create a page for Harry Potter Read Along
  • Create an About page for Once Upon a Chapter
  • Create an About page for me
  • Schedule Harry Potter Read Along Week 1
  • If I accomplish all of that and am satisfied with my new blog design these are the additional things I plan on working on:

  • Launch new web design
  • Change every social media profile picture ever
  • Start on reformatting review posts (as this will be a weeks long project we’ll leave it at that!)
  • Organizing Reviews Mini Challenge:

    TBR Shot
Thanks to Lauren @ Lose Time Reading I now have a way to systematically check my TBR pile and review progress!

    Feed Readers Mini Challenge:

Thanks to Jenn at The Picky Girl I’ve taken a look at some of the other reader options out there. I’d signed up to Feedly before Bloggiesta but decided to give my readers more options. I signed up Bloglovin’ and claimed my blog! You can now follow Once Upon a Chapter via Bloglovin’! Go forth and follow!

    Stumble Upon:

April from Good Books & Good Wine had an excellent post about Stumble Upon and what it can do for you. I’ve liked a few of the things that I have Stumbled Upon and even Stumbled one of my most popular reviews. I’ll be sure to be use Stumble Upon with the other posts that I like from other bloggers. Thanks April!

I will be here to assist you with Thesis! I know how to find the CSS for widget titles if you have problems with that. I haven’t added a background to them, but I know the general principle.

By the way, if you use Chrome, you can right click on your page, choose “Inspect Element” and find the CSS property you want to change. Firefox has an add on called Firebug (I think. Not sure) that does something similar. It makes finding the CSS element to change so much easier.

Thank you so much for your help! It has truly been invaluable and has made me realize how lucky I am. πŸ™‚ We made it!

      • Stephanie

Thanks! The designing part came together much more quickly than I would have thought possible but once I had decided what it was I wanted to do there was no stopping me! Now I have formatting stuff to accomplish but that will come together over time. Thanks for stopping by!

I wish I could teach myself half of these. I got my blog re-designed by someone else and even things like changing the fonts on my comment is scary to change when you use the long coding LOL maybe I should have taught myself before it was designed. Speaking of fonts, I adore this font on your comment, what is it?

      Love your header btw πŸ˜‰

      My Bloggiesta Goals

      Have a great Bloggigesta weekend!

      • Stephanie

It takes time for sure. It also means a lot of Googling on my part and pestering of my other bloggy friends but in the end we get it all figured out. When typing the comment the font is Google Web Fonts Gabriela. When a comment is posted it’s posted in Google Web Fonts Sintony.

Blog Smarter is a service offered by Amanda @ LM, LLC. You can find it here. I’ve been blogging for three years but have never been really focused. Amanda makes some excellent points and I feel like it really helped me. πŸ™‚ I’d recommend it.

My nearest UBS is a little over an hour away so the book swap page is almost a necessity!

      • Stephanie

It is definitely a necessity for me. πŸ™‚ My nearest UBS is over an hour away and I’d rather help out another blogger. Thanks for stopping by!

      • Stephanie

I completely kicked my list’s butt! I’m surprised because I usually set my goals too high but this time around I killed it. πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

      • Stephanie

I hope if you added more to your to do list because of me that they didn’t add any stress. πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by!

      • Stephanie

I took a half day from work on Friday and that helped tremendously! Thank you! I kinda love it too. I’ve followed you back on those sites! πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

Big list! I got so much accomplished on Saturday (didn’t leave the computer for nearly seven hours) and then did a whole bunch of nothing yesterday – but I did check out a ton of blogs, so I guess that counts.

      I need a Bloggiesta week, I think. πŸ™‚

      • Stephanie

It was a little bit daunting. The design part fell together much more quickly than I had anticipated. Yes! Socializing is just as important (and fun!) as the task completion.

    4. Rachel

Hi! Looks like you had a really hefty to-do list, and got it mostly completed! Good job! I’m still working on mine – one of my goals was to go through all these start-line posts and see what everyone else’s goals were. You can see I’m behind!

      I liked the StumbleUpon mini-challenge too. It’s fun. πŸ™‚

      My Bloggiesta

      • Stephanie

That’s the thing that I love most about Bloggiesta. Not only do you accomplish things during the event but it gives you more to work on after it’s over. πŸ™‚

        I admire you for stopping by everyone’s blogs. That’s usually a task that I can’t accomplish. πŸ™

      • Stephanie

Thanks! Bloggiesta really inspired me this time around. As long as I can keep that momentum going I think I’ll be just fine!

      • Stephanie

You can join whenever you have time to catch up with us. πŸ™‚ We’re only in the first book and the first three aren’t terribly long so they are easy to whizz through.

        Thanks for stopping by!!

      • Stephanie

Thanks! It helped that I took a half day from work on Friday so I had time to focus before I went and picked up the hubs. πŸ˜‰ I hope you had a great time during Bloggiesta too!
