Let’s Talk Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Smash @ Smash Attack Reads and Kt @ A Book Obsession. It was inspired by Melissa @ i swim for oceans. Each week a question is posed and participants discuss their thoughts and feelings. For a list of upcoming questions, check out Smash’s blog!
This week’s question: What social media sites/tools do you frequently use? Which ones do you avoid and why?
I totally suck at social media. I really do. I use Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, LibraryThing and on the blog I use CommentLuv.
Facebook – I really only use Facebook as another way for readers to get notifications of a new post. I don’t utilize it as a conversation tool the way that I should.
Twitter – I’m just now really getting the hang of Twitter. For the longest time I didn’t use it because more than once someone would be having a “conversation” and I tweeted back regarding the topic and was basically called out for being rude. Seriously? There isn’t a Twitter handbook (that I know of) and so I was just instantly reverted back into not using Twitter. I’ve gotten over that now and am better about talking with people. I am actually enjoying Twitter now!
GoodReads – I really utilize GoodReads for social interaction amongst my booky friends. It does have all of my books listed and I’m finally getting myself organized on there.
LibraryThing – I use LibraryThing to keep a more thorough catalog of my books. I’m not very social on this site and I don’t really feel bad about that. I do use it as another place to get my reviews noticed.
CommentLuv – I love to try to give back to the blogging community and to those who take the time to comment on my blog! This makes CommentLuv the perfect tool. It allows my visitors to see other articles that they may be interested in and offers more click throughs for my blogging friends. It is a great tool.
