We join Izzie Scott and the Monroes immeadiatley after the bombshell dropped at the end of Belles. Winter White is mostly focused on cotillion and Bill Monroe’s U.S. Senate run. Most of the book is one long uncomfortable freeze out between Izzie & Mira and their father. The girls can’t forgive him for keeping a secret that affected their lives so deeply.

There is so much going on in Winter White it’s enough to make your head spin. It seems like every other day a new scandal is breaking over the Monroes, cotillion classes aren’t easy and the initiation challenges are stressful. It’s amazing that Izzie and Mira even have time to consider boys. Yet there is some of the dressed in there as well. Izzie and Brayden can’t seem to get past the hurdle of Izzie not fitting into Emerald Cove. Mira can’t tell Kellen how she feels about him. Just when it seems that everything is going to be settled a new scandal rips apart everything all over again.

In all honesty this book is total fluff. There are no hard hitting issues here. Everything wrong in the Monres’ life is settled by the end of the story Winter White is a great read that allows you to indulge in someone book else’s story for awhile. It’s a quaint read that spends a lot of time with the southern tradition of cotillion.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and revisiting the characters of Jen Calonita’s Emerald Cove. Winter White just didn’t resonate with me on a deeper level. For me it was a read meant to help pass the time.
