Classification: YA Novel

Summary from Goodreads:

Hayden Boudreaux couldn’t decide which was worse— that he was falling in love with a mortal or that the only way to break his family’s centuries-old curse would be to kill her. Of all that he was certain was the more time he spent with her, the more he knew he would do anything to protect Adriana Alexander, including sacrificing his eternity. What he wouldn’t expect was that Luke – his brother that hated Ana, who wanted to kill her – would decide he would want her as his own.

My Thoughts:

When I read the first book in this series, Hurricane, I felt there were a few things that were a bit unclear about the plot lines. I’m glad to say that reading this novella really helped me to piece some things together and remember what all happened in the first book.

The characters were fun to read about this time around because I already knew who they were and what to expect. I would even say that I liked the characters more in this book because I got to reconnect with them all in a way. Plus Luke is really interesting to me now because the first book was in Ana’s point of view and this novella was in Hayden’s pov so I’m really wanting to see where Luke is going to go with his feelings in the second book.

The plot in this one is almost an exact copy of the first book because this is the first book told in Hayden’s view. I was sort of hoping for a little more to the plot. I mean I did like the plot from the first book and it is always great to get a different view on the same situations but I wanted just a touch more. I thought I was going to see more of Hayden and Luke struggling with decisions that needed to be made after the ending of Hurricane. I guess I was looking for a little more of Luke’s part in this journey and I will be certainly keeping my eyes open for his character to take a bigger role in the next book.

Overall, it was fun to reconnect with the characters and wet my appetite for the second book. Now all I have to do is wait until Feb 2013 to find out about how Ana is going to react as she spends even more time around two sexy Hunters and how those two sexy Hunters are going to interact with Ana and around each other since they are both interested in that one same thing.
