Darkness Bound (Chimney Rock #1)

Synopsis: WHEN NIGHT FALLS

After her husband’s tragic death, Leigh Kelly arrives on Whidbey Island determined to start over. Yet the tiny town of Chimney Rock is not as peaceful as it seems. Women have been disappearing, and Leigh can’t shake the feeling that she’s being watched . . . especially at night. Soon, she’s experiencing visions she can’t explain and fighting her attraction to a handsome stranger who seems to know her most intimate desires.

PASSION TRANSFORMS THEM

As the leader of the Team, a pack of werehounds forced to hide their very existence, former special ops soldier Niles Latimer is desperate to prove a man’s heart beats beneath his predator’s body. And Leigh-the mysterious beauty possessing powers she doesn’t yet understand-may be the one woman who can help him. But Niles isn’t the only one who recognizes Leigh’s true identity. Something evil is waiting in the woods-and the hunt has begun . . . – via GoodReads

What I Liked: I love reading books that have a lot of different paranormal creatures in them. Chimney Rock is a magical and mysterious town full of different paranormal creatures. A lot of woman have been disappearing and some reappearing with no memory of what happened to them. Leigh came back to this small town hoping to get over the death of her husband. She meets Niles, whom she has an instant attraction to. Niles is different from any other man she has met and she finds herself falling for him. Leigh feels like she belongs in this town and belongs to Niles. Leigh feels that this is her home and she is different from everyone else. She also feels that she is being watched.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the romance, passion and action. The author had a way of drawing you into the story. I just didn’t enjoy how it ended.

What I Didn’t Like: I didn’t like how the book ended. It kept you in suspense and wanting more. It never really finished the storyline. The next book is about another character from this book.

Recommended For: Any reader who likes paranormal.

Avoid If: If you don’t like paranormal.

Surprisingly this sounds really great. There normally isn't much that an author can add to the paranormal genre at this point but when you find one that works for you you need to stick with it. 🙂

    Thanks for the great review.
