The List of Ten or My May TBR List

I was scrolling through Tweets on our way home from St. Louis on Sunday when I came across a Tweet from April at Good Books and Good Wine about list making. Those of you who know me, know I spend more time making lists than I do accomplishing said things on list. I consider this kind of list as something that is going to work. Why? Mainly because my discovery of it coincides with the beginning of Operation: TBR Reduction. I am being quite serious about getting these books read so I’m going to give it a try. My list is a combination of April’s and Michelle’s of GalleySmith (the original creator). I do not in any way claim credit for this idea. The only thing that I can say is that I’m using Michelle’s idea and tailoring it to fit my reading needs.

Library Hold – Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter
Library Hold – Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
ARC – Corpse in the Crystal Ball by Kari Lee Townsend
Series – The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James
Series – Storm’s Heart by Thea Harrison
Ebook – Simply Perfect by Mary Balogh
GoodReads TBR – Haunted by Heather Graham
Young Adult – Forgotten by Cat Patrick
Can’t Wait to Read – Lover Unleashed by J.R. Ward
Category Romance – The Bride and the Bargain by Allison Leigh

Basically this is the exact order of books that I’ll be reading for however long it takes. The only variation will be if I have received my ARC or not by the time I get to it. If not, I’ll move on to the next book and keep going until it comes in. More than likely I won’t be getting through this entire list in a month. Once I get to the last book in the list, I’ll start another List of Ten.

What do you think of the List of Ten? More specifically, any opinions on my List of Ten?

I love your list! Seriously, The Duke Is Mine is a GREAT book that you will fly through. It's hilarious and swoon worthy. I loved it.

Also? I really like the variety too!

    You can do it!!

I'm excited to get caught up with the series! I have to have variety as a reader. I get burnt out too easily. It helps to switch up genres.

      Thanks for the support! 😉

Grave Mercy looks like such a good book. A list sounds like a great idea, I actually wrote myself up one some time ago. I have, what I call, a TBR box where I keep those books so that I don't have to go looking for them on my shelves.

This is a neat idea! I do a similar sort of thing, just by moving things I want to read soon to the top of my Goodreads to read list. But it's flexible, because I'm indecisive. 🙂

    I loved Grave Mercy!

I made sure that my categories were varied enough that I felt like I had some flexibility. I'm only two books in but I'm enjoying it. I'm not getting overwhelmed by the hundreds of books I can chose from and it's satisfying to feel like I'm accomplishing something.

Lists are awesome and a great way to keep track and plan things, it's a good idea for you to do one these to help with your TBR reduction. Good luck getting as much of these as you can done 🙂

I am a HUGE list maker. It's almost as bad as the compulsive book buying. Sometimes I make lists for my lists. *Sigh. I may have OCD. That's a confession. 😀

I started May 1st! I am not counting freebies on the kindle as I won't pass those up and they can sit there forever. So I had 1 book come in 🙂 I am totally with you on this! We will do it!

Yay!! I broke and grabbed a couple of bargain books from my wishlist but I have three weeks to make up for it and I am determined! Can't wait to see how you do!

Gah! Reading lists make me nervous because I can never stick to them, and I hate feeling like I have to read anything. I'm rather ornery that way. If someone told me I had to read the next book in the Darkness Rising series RIGHT NOW, I'd probably ignore them.
