Summary from Goodreads:
I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall. I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me—again.
Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects—and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school. But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way. The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom. So why do they have it in for me?
It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me—and I’m in for the fight of my life.
Where did this book go? I was reading and then all of a sudden it was over! The whole story was so amazingly action packed that after reading 330ish pages I felt like I had only read 30. I was so engrossed in this book from the start that when the end of the story came up and my Nook wouldn’t let me turn anymore pages I was in shock! I
wanted NEEDED more! I want more of these characters and this story because who could help but love Gwen and of course our hot bad boy Logan freakin Quinn.
Alright I’ll try to cut down on fangirling but it is entirely likely that it will come back out because of Logan!
I did love this story as it picks right back off just one-two weeks after the events of the second book. This time Gwen knows that she needs to find the missing dagger that her mother hid when she was Nike’s Champion. She will need to work fast because reapers are already hot on her trail since they have already attacked the student body while in a museum, which was an epic fight to read!
Aside from all the action the story had some great in-depth moments where Gwen is struggling to keep all of her friends and Logan around. They certainly put Gwen in some difficult situations and she handles a lot of this story on her own. Gwen basically gets to learn more about herself and become stronger as a character even though it appears that she is weak. She has such strength and there is a part of this book that I was literally fighting back tears because it was such an emotional break down for Gwen.
Overall this story has action, epic fights, emotional break downs, and amazing characters that you can’t help but latch on to. (Yeah I’d be willing to latch on to Logan freakin Quinn!) Wait what was I saying, oh yes the awesome book that this is deserves nothing less than 5 hearts and Estep is now a must read author for me. The only thing I wish this book had more of would be Logan but I believe we will see him a lot more in the fourth book, which sadly doesn’t release until 2013.
