Synopsis:KATE WINTERS HAS WON IMMORTALITY.

BUT IF SHE WANTS A LIFE WITH HENRY IN THE UNDERWORLD, SHE’LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT.

Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

What I Liked: Goddess Interrupted was GREAT! I enjoyed it immensely. We get back to Eden and Henry. Kate had gone through a lot in The Goddess Test but Aimee Carter wouldn’t let her rest in Goddess Interrupted. Kate faces her fears of inferiority in the worst way possible. She must seek out the one person she’d rather never have to meet and ask for help. Her sister Persephone is the only other person in all of the Underworld that can help her get back Henry. Calliope certainly was able to get back at the gods and Kate in one fell swoop! It made for a very entertaining read.

What I Could Have Lived Without: While I understand Kate’s distress, she seemed so much more whiny in Goddess Interrupted than she did in The Goddess Test. She wasn’t the same winner takes all Kate. She let Persephone get in the way of her happiness more than once. Towards the end we get back our Kate and she fights for what she wants.

Recommended For: Readers looking for some Greek mythology to spice up their reading

Avoid If: Greek mythology isn’t your thing or somewhat whiny characters annoy you

  1. Somewhat whiny characters annoy the bejeebus out of me so I will probably pass! It does sound like it was great read though and even though Kate took a bit in the book to get back to "her fiesty self" at least she did 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am glad that you enjoyed it !

    1. Yes! It was so nice to have our normal Kate back. I also did not mention the mega cliffhanger at the end! I can't wait to read the third book. :O

  2. So many people seemed to really enjoy the first book in this series and then didn't like this one. I really don't like whiny or annoying characters so I'm scared to read this series. A blogger friend of mine loved the first book though and bought me a copy so I guess I should just get over my fears of book two and actually read the first book.

Thanks for the awesome review! Glad that you did like the book even though there were some missteps.

    1. Don't miss the first book just because the second one has some flaws. It's still a great series. Promise! 🙂 Can't wait to hear what you think of it!
