Summary from Goodreads:

When a rival clan of vampires makes its way into Forks, though, the danger to Bella has never been more real. Will she make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the people dearest to her?

My Thoughts:

After the first volume being a bit disappointing, I was a little scared to read this continuation of the series. This volume brought me everything that I was expecting in the first volume!

In this volume, the Twilight story moved to my favorite part of Twilight. I love the scenes where Edward and Bella were finally able to get closer and let their relationship develop. The thing that I also loved about this volume was the fact that they really went through the trouble of including Carlisle’s story. This was actually a huge part of the novel, which I felt greatly explained the major points about how Edward’s family came to be.

I enjoyed that more time was spent on the artwork this time around. Many things did not seem to come straight from a clipart program this time around.  There were some great color images in this volume that really amped up the level of the book. It made for artwork that was tasteful and even beautiful, it was entirely what I wanted the first time. So even though the artwork wasn’t the best in the first one I’m so glad that the artist picked up the pieces and tried again.

Overall, this volume really brought out my favorite elements of Twilight in a new medium. I read the book first, then saw the movie, and I have to say this graphic novel really added another great element to the Twilight world. Now I can’t wait to go back and read the books again for the rest of the 2012 challenge. I’m ready to reconnect with the characters of Twilight to see if I love it as much now as I did then. This volume gets 4.5 hearts from me for renewing my hope in Twilight and in graphic novels made from popular books.

I haven’t read this one YET, but I love the graphic novels of the Twilight books. I like how they actually have the anime feel in the drawings!

I looooooove graphic novels. When my kids were little, I was too busy to read. Well, I confess that I was really scared about how books draw me in and how lost to the world I get. That would be a bad thing when babies need fed and diapers need changed and I HAVE to get my sleep or I’ll really regret it. So I got my book fix with graphic novels, especially Batman. So this sounds like a really good read to me.

I neglect Alexa sometimes because of graphic novels so I totally understand where you are coming from. If you really love Batman, I suggest picking up Batman Hush or Batman Cacophony.

      Great reads.
Steer clear of The Widening Gyre….just saying. All of my reviews for those books should be posted shortly.
I am so happy you enjoy my choices in books. 🙂
