Questions of the week: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?
Answer: This is a tough one, but I almost had my answer immediately! I’d read my favorite book over and over again. Why? At one point in my blogging career, (ha! career….I kill myself!) I read a bunch of mediocre books back to back and it burnt me out big time. I vowed after that, that I would not do that to myself again. It took all the fun out of reading. So the solution to this problem is drive myself crazy reading the same one book that I love over and over and over and over and over….you get the point. 😉 Have a great weekend y’all and I’ll be sure to visit you back!

Good answer, you certainly don't want to take the fun out of reading! I chose the 100 book option anyway… thought it would be a good way to appreciate my fav book for what it's worth.

I like your answer. I picked the 100 mediocre books though I think there is value in all books good or bad and you might miss it if you choose not to read them(:

Yeah, sometimes the mediocre books made me don't wanna read again. I went back to my fave over and over again. Plus, reading a book you know you'll never like is a waste of time and energy.

I do wonder about getting sick of my favourite book, but there are always new angles and nuances to discover. Besides, I just can't bring myself to waste time with mediocre reads.

Hey, new follower here. I chose mediocre books because mediocre isn't bad. Mediocre is just okay. And I'm okay with okay. I'd rather do that than begin to hate my favorite book because I knew what the characters were going to say/do next, word for word, before they did.
Anyway, please check out my blog!

Good answer! I guess you are right, if I really did have to read 100s of mediocre books, I would probably end up putting them down and never picking them back up which would lead to me never reading again, and we all know we can't let that happen!
Anyway, I'm Courtney and I'm a new follower and just wanted to say Hi! Have a great weekend!

New follower, my FF. I'm with you, mediocre books are the worst and I have been burned out in the past by reading too many of them.

I'm not a re-reader. I wonder at times if I should, but I don't know if I would spoil the initial feeling from reading the book.

Just stopping by for the Feature Follow….I agree with you on re reading a favorite book…I also have read many mediocre books and had to stop before I hated reading!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Okay, that's a pretty good answer. Reading a bunch of mediocre books in a row can take the joy out of reading. But how will you ever discover your next favorite unless you keep trying!

I'm with you, reading mediocre books burns me out. It sends me into a reading slump! Who wants a reading slump? I'd rather read my favorites because at least I know it would take me a long time before reading seemed like a chore. Plus, returning to my favorites is so comforting. Every time I crack open the Harry Potter books, it's like I'm returning home to Hogwarts!

Haha, if only we got paid for this! That is true. I hate feeling like I "have" to read and get burned out too!
Hope you're able to stop by and participate in my Swirls eBook giveaway!

ROFL, similiar thing here! I do reread my favorite books quite-Holy Cow is this a rainbow coming out of this unicorns behind? What the..- often, but I start to dislike them after a while. I did however do the whole mediocre book thing last year (March. 40 books.) and it burnt me out as well.

I did that to myself as well. It was terrible. It's like I was trying to destroy my favorite hobby for myself. Thankfully, I am much smarter about it now. Every time I feel myself going slightly off the train tracks, I pick up Anne of Green Gables and the sanity comes back. Although I don't think I would be able to read Anne over and over either. If anyone ever mentioned carrots in front of me…chaos.

100% Agree! I rather spend my time amongst my favorite characters and worlds then forever be not interested and disappointed in others.
