1. Killing Floor
2. Die Trying

Synopsis: When a woman is kidnapped off a Chicago street in broad daylight, Jack Reacher’s in the wrong place at the wrong time. He’s kidnapped with her. Handcuffed together and racing across America toward an unknown destination, they’re at the mercy of a group of men demanding an impossible ransom. Because Reacher’s female companion is worth more than he imagines. Now he as to save them both–from the inside out–or die trying… via GoodReads.

Why I Picked It Up: I was book bullied into Killing Floor by a co-worker. She told me I’d love the Jack Reacher novels and she was right! I’m hoping to get caught up with the series and picked up book number two.

What I Lurved: Child can write a kick ass suspense novel that will grab you from page one. He holds no punches and at times can be gory. Reacher is still an awesome supersmart protagonist. The plot line is not impossible but highly improbable. I was able to suspend reality and enjoy Die Trying.

What I Could Have Lived Without: There really wasn’t anything that I could have done without. Child did a great job with Die Trying. If there are any complaints, it’s simply that there were some pretty grandiose plot points. But that’s why I read fiction. πŸ˜‰

  1. I love Lee Child. I need to get back to this series. I love your reviews! Definitely up my alley.

    1. Thanks so much! I try to make my reviews easy to read and break them down into sections so people can find what they are looking for! πŸ˜‰

  2. This is a great series! Number 1 was great and this one was even better. Great character development and an unpredictable ending.

    1. Killing Floor was a bit of a shock for me because I wasn’t expecting that level of violence. It fit the story and the needs of the story but it still shocked me. I still loved the story! I am hoping to continue with the rest of the series later on this year. πŸ™‚

  3. Have you read the latest by Lee Child? The Midnight Line was just published and I got hooked on this author once again. Jack Reacher is really something else. A mountain of a man with a zen quality who really is not afraid of pretty much anything and helps everyone who comes upon him and is in need. Btw, The Midnight Line has less violence and Reacher is a bit more mellow, so to speak, more relaxed in this book.

    1. I haven’t. I try to read my series in order because I’m a real oddball about that. But I have kept up with the series. I really enjoy them! I’m glad that there are so many to get caught up on! I agree. Jack Reacher is a bit of an icon. πŸ™‚ Whenever I think of the series I routinely try to make him the author of his own books! Lol.
