Title: Vampire Knight Vol 9
Author: Matsuri Hino
Publisher: Shojo Beat
Publication Date: Feb 2010
Classification: 18+ Manga
Challenge: Outdo Yourself

Summary from Barnes and Noble:
A war among vampires has started at Cross Academy, and even Day Class students are being attacked. Kaname finally reveals his hidden plan to Zero, and Zero must choose on which side he will fight. But in order for Zero to defeat the enemy, he will have to take part in an atrocious act…

My Thoughts:
Talk about one very confusing volume. It felt like the scenes in this volume were all over the place and instead of getting questions answered I’m left feeling confused! Kaname just has too many plans going on all the time for one person to keep all of his secrets straight. He gave blood to Zero a while back and now he wants Zero to fight for him. The catch is Zero must destroy the life of his twin in order to gain enough power to fight Kaname’s Uncle Rido. Who is this Rido guy and why has he come back from the dead basically, who the heck knows. He wants revenge is all we ever really learn, he wants to be the head of the Kuran blood line instead of Kaname. Somehow though Kaname doesn’t really seem like the head of his line, he is suppose to be connected with Yuki but that connection doesn’t make sense!

Overall, I think you know from the first paragraph how I feel about this volume. It was in one word, confusing. Nothing seemed to make sense because all of the vampires are doing more in the volumes and we never learned anything about any of them before volume 8 so the vampires although interesting are just not people I feel very connected with. Plus I feel both Kaname and Zero have lost their minds! Plus there is a huge cliffhanger at the end of this volume that just seems so out of character for Zero and Yuki characters. *mummbles* I’m off to read volume 10 and hope that the characters that I love gain some common sense again now that the battle with Rido seems to be over. This volume gets 3.5 hearts from me.

It's a shame this one is really confusing! I don't like it when you don't know why all these things are happening. But I have heard really good things about volume 10, so hope you enjoy that one! Thanks for the review :).
