Murphy’s Law by Lori Foster
August ‘On the Shelves’ Pick!

Murphy’s Law by Lori Foster is a sexy and stunning contemporary romance that you won’t soon forget. This book is a nice, light read and it is highly entertaining!

Ashley Miles does not need another distraction in her life. Working two jobs, going to school and being maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding is about all she can handle at the moment. Yet Quinton Murphy walks into her life and stirs up all kinds of feelings. He’s successful, gorgeous and has all the right moves. Being the assertive and independent person she is, Ashley does her best to ignore his charms. Yet when a baddie from her past comes back into her life to have his revenge, Ashley realizes this may be something she can’t handle on her own. Which is a good thing, because Quinton is certain he never wants to leave Ashley’s side again.

Murphy’s Law is an adorable contemporary romance with quirky, lovable characters that set the pages on fire! Foster writes not only believable characters, but characters with great personalities. Ashley was an over achiever but in an admirable way. Her personality was easily classified as one in a million. She was blunt, brutally honest and completely adorable. If she was thinking it, she said it. It is hard not to admire a classic character like that. Quinton was the suave businessman with a heart of gold. Caring and thoughtful with a wonderful personality, he was the man of every girl’s dream. He wanted desperately to protect Ashley and take of her, but at the same time give her the space she needed since she was such a free spirit.

Murphy’s Law ties into a previous release of Foster’s titled Jude’s Law. The villain appears in both novels, so fans cautious of reading books out of order probably shouldn’t start with Murphy’s Law. It certainly can be read as a stand alone, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

There was a little dash of suspense and drama in this novel, but it was light and problems were wrapped up quickly. It’s more about the romance than anything else in this novel. Murphy’s Law focuses on how quickly and completely these two characters change each other. It’s all for the better, of course. And I can’t forget to mention how incredibly steamy this book is! Whew! These two have got it bad for each other and the reader is taken along for an exciting ride. So be prepared for a very spicy romance with Murphy’s Law.

There really was not anything I disliked about this novel. The characters were great, the story was wonderful! I started and finished the novel on a lazy Sunday…so that should give some hint to how reluctant I was to put this book down! Fans of fun, sexy and exciting contemporary romances should pick up Lori Foster’s Murphy’s Law!
