“Author Spotlight” is a chance for us to give you a little more info on some our favorite authors. Maybe you’ve heard of them before but you’ll find a title you may have missed or maybe you’ll discover a new author to try!
The author I am highlighting this month is an author I just discovered, Delle Jacobs. Even though I’ve only read one of her novels thus far, I loved it so much I am willing to stake my credible blogger reputation (HA!) on the fact that she is an absolutely wonderful author and certainly an auto buy for me from now on. The novel I had the pleasure of reviewing for The Romance Reviews was excellent and easily a top pick for me!
Book description from Della Jacobs.com
When the Ton’s most infamous rake, Thomas Steynes, Viscount Savoury, is forced to retreat to his ancient, abandoned, family manor to redeem his wasted life, he comes upon a woman being tormented by village boys. Rushing to the rescue, he discovers his damsel in distress is instead the very viper-tongued harpy who hates him more than anyone else on earth.
Cast aside by her violent husband, the last thing Davina, Lady Wyckham, needs is an irkingly handsome knight in tarnished armor hell bent to rescue her. After her brutal marriage, all she wants is to be left alone, to support herself raising herbs to sell to apothecaries. And if she weren’t ruined enough already, Savoury’s attention can only bring more disaster.
Despite their intentions, true friendship and trust grow between them, and the attraction they had long denied begins to deepen. But behind their backs lurks a dark mystery that threatens them both. Only by uncovering and thwarting the sinister plot can they have a chance for survival and love.
I loved this novel! Love, love, loved it! The hero was spectacular and the heroine was amazing. While reading this novel, I was always wondering what was going to happen next. ‘How is this going to be solve?’ ‘What is that person going to say about this?’ ‘Will they ever…?’ It’s very rare for a historical novel to keep me second guessing everything throughout the book, but this one did and I loved it! Kept me on my toes and made the romance even more dramatic and stunning.
Wait for my review to be posted early next month for more on this wonderful novel! Don’t miss it! 😀
Her eyes slanted, narrow and wary, yet the slow rhythm of her breathing had deepened, lifting the deliciously curved breasts he admired so much. The tip of her tongue traced the edge of her lower lip. New life sprang to his loins.
“I expect you’ll give them the best of care,” she said.
God, was that all she had to do? Lick her lips? Lift an eyebrow at him? What if she lifted her lips? To his?
Savoury sipped his tea in perfect gentility, knowing all too well the wild barbarian he really was. What a fine adversary she made. She deserved to know passion.
Lady Wicked. How wicked she could be. The delectable part was, she didn’t know it.
So then, a new challenge: he would harbor her, protect her with a lie of omission, until he could get her situated somewhere else and out of his life.
And he would, God help him for the fool he was, keep his hands to himself.
