So I’m talking about movies again! I probably will many times in Random Ramblings, so beware! I don’t know if anyone else has felt the same, but lately I felt there’s been a drought in the quality of film choices out there. Hardly anything has inspired me to get in the car, make the trip to the theater and fork over my $10 for a ticket. But from some of the trailers I’ve been noticing lately, it looks like things are picking up! So today I’m rambling about some upcoming films that are catching my eye!
Film: Due Date
Starring: Robert Downey, Jr., Zach Galifianakis
Opening: November 5th, 2010
Of course, who doesn’t love a great comedy??? This one looks like a riot! No matter how many time I’ve seen the trailer, I crack up! Zack Galifianakis is a diamond in the rough. He has the perfect mannerisms, comedic timing, and just that special something to add to the punch line. I never would have placed him and Downey together in a film, but it looks like they are the perfect odd couple! My biggest concern with any comedy is that they reveal too much of the humor in the trailers and previews…hopefully that is not the case with this film!
Film: The Next Three Days
Starring: Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks
Opening: November 19th, 2010
Really, I love any movie Russell Crowe is in. He’s engaging, talented and not too bad to look at! I love the premises of this movie and think it will be one exciting adventure! You can’t beat a great suspense film! I’m also anxious to see Elizabeth Banks in a serious role. I’ve seen her in comedies and parodies, but never anything this serious. I’m pretty sure I’ll be in line on opening weekend!
Film: Love and Other Drugs
Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway
Opening: November 24th, 2010
I will be totally honest with you, all you have to do is say Jake Gyllenhaal and I’m there. Doesn’t really matter what it’s about. But once I looked past that I saw that not only do we have Mr. Gyllenhaal starring, but the stunningly beautiful Anne Hathaway as well! We first saw these two on screen together in a little film known as Brokeback Mountain (which made me cry like a baby!) and I have to say I am very excited to see them back together for this film. This looks like the cute little film you’ll be talking about days after you view it. I read romance novels, but I’m not a big RomCom fan (weird, right?), but the mature, dramatic romance films like these always reel me in! I can’t wait to see it!
Excited to see these films or another movie I didn’t mention? Let me know!
