Invincible by Joan Johnston
Book Description from Amazon:
Bella Benedict’s five children are scattered around the world like a handful of jewels. Now she’s dying and has one last wish. To bring her children home. And to give them what she had: a marriage of passion.
Playboy Max Benedict has no interest in commitment. He had his heart broken once and that was enough. Instead, he travels the world, working as a sometime spy for the CIA. When asked to investigate a threat against the president, he doesn’t think twice about accepting–until he hears who he’ll be working with.
FBI Agent Kristin Lassiter is on the verge of losing everything. When Bella Benedict offers to pay her debts, she’s tempted to accept. But there’s a catch. She wants Kristin to win the heart of her son Max, the man who destroyed Kristin years ago. A man unaware he fathered her daughter. If she succeeds, she’ll get the money she needs–and the priceless rubies Bella’s offered to sweeten the deal. Can she win Max’s heart without falling back in love with him?
Call me a sucker for a dramatic cover, but I am loving the cover for the latest release by Joan Johnston! It’s rich, it’s seductive and speaks of a novel that hold plenty of intrigue and suspense! Still, I think what draws me in the most is the simplicity of it all. The cover is stunning and elegant, yet simple and dramatic. The colors draw you in like a moth to a flame, but it’s not overwhelming. Whether the book is historical, contemporary, suspense or what have you…I’m always love a gorgeous dress! Add that plus a heroine/model who poses with an attitude that looks like she’s going to make our hero fall to his knees and I’m in!
The description sounds wonderful too…so here’s hoping the Benedict Brother’s series is starting off strong!
