Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It has been too long since I last worked on Once Upon a Chapter. My husband finally got on the same page with me and we’ve been focusing on a healthier lifestyle. This involves more homecooking, relying less on convenient food options, and spending an ungodly amount of time at the gym. On a weekday (which I do 3 out of the 5) it is a minimum of an hour and a half. On the weekends it is closer to 2 1/2 hours. Not all of that is spent working out but by the time I get home I have zero desire (and frankly not much more time) to do much else. It seems to be worth it though as I’m down 35 pounds and my husband is down 18 pounds.

I think I’ve posted ad nauseam about how long it takes me to adapt to new things/schedules so I won’t cover it yet again. What I will say is that I’m trying. We’re getting there. I’m adapting (slowly) to our new lifestyle and learning to prioritize the things that I want to accomplish. I have to split my limited free time amongst reading, blogging, cross-stitching, knitting, meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prepping. Today I had enough time to get a few blog posts up and that feels like a victory. We only have 3 work days this week so I hope to get a bit more accomplished as we go.

Here’s what we’ve been up to on the blog this week:

Nothing to show for this week. I’ll keep better notes for next week. 😉

The Prey by Allison Brennan I’m about 1/3 of the way through Allison Brennan’s debut. It is a re-read for me but it’s been a few years since I originally read it. I’m hoping to get through it this week. Who knows? Maybe there will end up being more than one book to read this week!

I have such issues with change in my schedule. I always need a couple weeks to re-adjust. Thank goodness for my planner otherwise I would be a mess.

It sounds great that you are choosing a healthy lifestyle and congrats on the weight Loss. That is really one of the hardest things to do and stick to. You both should be very proud!

I hope you have an amazing week, Stephanie! Happy Reading! ox

I’ve definitely taken my time about it! 🙂 BUT the important thing is I am learning what works best for me and that it’s okay not to get every single thing on the list done in a day.

We’re trying. It’s not been easy but worth it. Thank you!

Adjusting to a new healthier lifestyle is NOT easy but I am totally cheering you on. But looks like you are making great progress. I am very proud of you here for sure. And its even better that you are doing it with your hubby.

It certainly isn’t but it has been worth it! Thank you very much! It helps tremendously to have him on the same page now. We encourage (and discourage) each other as necessary. It can cause strain sometimes but generally once I’m done being hangry it all works out! 😉
