Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Borrowed from Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Well I fell prey to my overly ambitious self again. 🙂 Surprisingly, I’m okay with that. I didn’t get nearly all the things that I wanted to get done this week BUT I’ve spent more time on my blog and among the bookish community in one week than I have in the last month. So progress, yes? I have even finished not one, but two books this week. I am knocking it out of the park. Lol.

Life has gotten better in the last few months. Not that it was bad before. It was just difficult and I had a really hard time figuring things out. It took some time. Now we’re doing much better with our budget, I am better at meal planning (thanks in large part to HelloFresh taking most of the dinner responsibilities off my shoulders!), and work issues have become virtually nonexistent. I mean there’s still you’re normal work stressers like coworkers and generally wanting to be anywhere else but the stuff that I was dealing with two to three months ago has smoothed out. I’m in a better place than I was just a few short months ago. I’m really positive on the direction my life is heading and it feels so good to be able to share that with you.

As I’m writing this my mom’s on her way to pick me up and we are going to spend a butter popcorned, cola induced giddiness few hours while we watch Beauty and the Beast together. I can’t wait!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

This may not be a regular feature on my Sunday Posts anymore. Part of being positive and happy with my life is having a budget in place. It means less spending in general. I don’t feel bad about this at all. In my personal library alone there are thousands (yes, thousands) of books just begging for me to finally pick them up. Not to mention I absolutely plan on using the library MUCH more for those pricier new releases. It isn’t permanent but its what is going to be best for me in the long run.

Long story short: Sometimes I’ll have haul (or library haul) to share that week. Sometimes I won’t.

Unfortunately no pictures this week. But I did pick up a few new books while I was at the Tucson Festival of Books with Alexa last weekend. One of the books that I’m most excited to read is The Gates of Evangeline by Hester Young. I was able to attend a panel that she was on and her story was the stuff that I love even if it was slightly tragic.

One Shot by Lee ChildI’ll be starting One Shot by Lee Child later today. I’m definitely in the mood to spend some time with Jack Reacher!

What are you reading this week?

That was my goal this week to finish two books but I only got to one but I am ok with it 🙂 I did a lot of other stuff so I worked out!

I am glad things are working out. I love menu planning, I never tried hellofresh but at the moment I am doing very good with doing the menu each week and it saves a lot on groceries.

OH Have fun seeing Beauty and the Beast. We are going next weekend. I am so excited to take my daughter. I don’t go opening weekend so I usually wait a week or two. I hate being in large crowds like that but after opening week it should slow down. I am hoping to go early am or late at night. I can’t wait to see it.

I hope you have a great week, Stephanie! Happy Reading! ox

I kind of accidentally finished two. One was only 160 pages and had I paid for it I would have been pissed but there you go. 🙂

I’m hoping to get to a point where I can meal plan myself. I always struggle with the waste of it. But I know that just takes practice. Using the same ingredients where you can and such. I think HelloFresh works for us because we’re a couple and we enjoy trying different types of foods.

It was fantastic! I can’t wait to see what you think. I tried to pre-order it once we left the theater but it wasn’t available yet. I totally get the large crowds. There was age ranges from infancy to 60+. It wasn’t too bad. We even went at 10:15 Sunday morning and it was still crazy busy!

Budgeting actually felt good this time because for once we are moving in the right direction. 🙂 It was awesome. Hope your week is great as well!

I’m so excited to watch Beauty and the Beast!!!

I’m lucky to not be a book buyer or collector – I extremely rarely buy books, which is a good thing, since I’m a voracious reader, and I’d spend a fortunate if I had to buy all the books I need to meet my bookish needs! 😉

It was SO good. I hope you get to see it soon. I typically buy my ebooks at a much reduced price but I’m starting to lean on my library more as I rarely keep the physical copies of books I have. Most end up being donated (which isn’t a bad thing!).

Yes! Those boxes have been life savers. I love the different foods we get to try too. My husband prefers HelloFresh but I’m going to give HomeChef another try. I’m a slow chef and my husband thinks its the difference between the boxes and I think its me. Lol! I like both so I feel like I have a ton of choices each week.

I actually feel content for the first time in a long time. Not that I was actively upset all the time but this is the first time in awhile that I’ve felt less burdened and happy. It’s wonderful!

HelloFresh is awesome! We had one incident with pork chops ripped open by the packaging but they credited us $20 for pork chops that we were able to replace for $3. Unfortunately I’ve decided to start taking my weight more seriously and am sending it bon voyage! While HelloFresh is pretty good on calories, it’s kind of high for Weight Watchers.

Exactly! I loved your organization posts for blogging. They’re helping me find my way back to the organized blogger I once was!
