In the epic sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel, The School for Good and Evil, Sophie and Agatha are home, living out their Ever After. But life isn’t quite the fairy tale they expected.

When Agatha secretly wishes she’d chosen a different happy ending, she reopens the gates to the School for Good and Evil. But the world she and Sophie once knew has changed.

Witches and princesses, warlocks and princes are no longer enemies. New bonds are forming; old bonds are being shattered. But underneath this uneasy arrangement, a war is brewing and a dangerous enemy rises. As Agatha and Sophie battle to restore peace, an unexpected threat could destroy everything, and everyone, they love—and this time, it comes from within.

Soman Chainani has created a spectacular world that Newbery Medal-winning author Ann M. Martin calls, “a fairy tale like no other, complete with romance, magic, and humor that will keep you turning pages until the end.”

4 Stars

After loving the first book in this series I knew it wasn’t going to be long before I read this book because I needed to know what was going to happen. You know when you can barely wait a week to pick up the next book that you are addicted.

This book started off a little weird to me because the girls were rejoining a world that was all messed up just from one fairytale. It seemed weird that their tale would have so much weight on the entire fairytale world but it did. I wanted to see where this was all going to go and I really have to say I wasn’t loving Tedros in this book because he was being stupid for a lot of it and he let dumb things get in the way of his love for Agatha. He let his desire to kill the witch get in the way of true love. Really a lot of this book was based on a misunderstanding and it was pretty sad that the characters let something so petty get in their way. I have to say I didn’t really enjoy the first half of this story because it wasn’t that exciting to me.

In the second half of the story I started to get involved again and liked what was going on. I felt that we finally got to see Sophie in a different light and what she really wanted. I also really loved what she had to do in this book in order to get where she wanted to be. I loved her unstable connection with Tedros because I believe that her reactions with him were more heartfelt than in the previous book and I liked their connection since he was mad with Agatha.

I have to say the ending of this book was crazy and I need to read the last book now because the second half of this book sucked me into the storyline again. I NEED to know what happens with Agatha and Sophie now because I know the last battle between these two will be epic! Go read this series because it is really good.
