The sky is dark with wings….
Like sand through an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past, they must find the place where the angels fell to earth.
Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this — live only to lose Luce again and again. Yet together they face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies…and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed.
And suddenly Luce knows what must happen. For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her — and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now is the only one that truly matters.
In the fight for Luce, who will win?
Rapture is the astonishing conclusion to the Fallen series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.
I have so many series I have started but have not gotten around to finishing yet. It seems everything I read is the first (or part of a series) so the list keeps growing. I don’t read many stand-alones . I really should start. Sorry, I am getting off topic here (what else is new lol) Rapture is the final installment in the Fallen series (find all titles here) It has been out for a while and I purchased it but then I couldn’t bring myself to read it. At first I wasn’t ready for it to end but then I got distracted with other lovelies and there it say on my tbr shelf.
I finally decided I needed to start reading more of my unread books that I already own so I grabbed this one. At first I was nervous. It had been so long since I read the one before it I didn’t know if I would love it the same as I had. Would I still enjoy the story and characters or had I read to many other thing in between that would make it dull in comparison? Luckily it quickly pulled me back in just as it always had. Luce and Daniel’s love is one I can’t help rooting for. They are wonderful together and I was nervous throughout the story just waiting until they would be ripped apart again. With finales you must always be prepared for a lot of sadness before you get any happiness and I was dreading seeing any of the characters hurt. I was biting my nails (okay I am not a nail biter but was very nervous inside) while reading through all the obstacles they still had to face. I wanted everyone safe and happy and I wanted it quick but Lauren really know how to make you sweat, will they or won’t they do all they need to in time to save themselves? Giving us more information of the beginning of Daniel and Luce’s love, as well as of their curse, she kept things exciting and nerve racking. She kept things sweet but tragic. She added to the story and finally revealed the truth.
Luce and Daniel were not going to get out of this easy. Their love would come with a price as it always had and whether they got their happiness or not many would suffer in between. I hated to see the casualties of their love but everyone knew what they were getting into. They did not join them blind. Nonetheless it could still be heartbreaking at times. I loved seeing how hard they were willing to fight to finally be together forever. Things got really difficult but they kept pushing forward. Luce knew there were secrets that Daniel knew and would not reveal but even when she couldn’t stand not being told she kept her faith in him and the others knowing she would find out in time.
Although it wasn’t particularly surprising the things leading up to the ending still had me going “oh my god…This is happening…” I knew this would happen but everything was revealed so well it didn’t matter if you knew or not. It would still be wonderful finally knowing. Lauren really brought me happiness and agony over the ending. It was beautiful but far from perfect (in my eyes). I know somethings are better left as they are and you have to stay true to what you think is best but there was one thing I was particularly upset about that I cannot mention. Must keep this spoiler free. Other things I was okay with but was really hoping for something else. Either way I am still a fan of Lauren Kate and the series. It was quite the finale! Like with all great series I am sad to see it end.
