Summary from Goodreads:
Violet Eden is Grigori – part angel, part human. Her destiny is to protect humans from the vengence of exiled angels.
Knowing who to trust is key but, when Grigori reinforcements arrive, it becomes clear everyone is hiding something. Even Lincoln. The only thing Violet does know: Phoenix’s hold over her is more dangerous than ever.
The race to find the one thing that could tilt the balance of power brings them all to the sacred mountains of Jordan, where Violet’s power will be pushed to the extreme. And the ultimate betrayal exposed.
Enticed is the second compelling book in The Violet Eden Chapters.
I feel in love with Embrace the moment I read it so I knew I had to get my hands on Entice as soon has humanly possible. Starting out Entice I’m not going to lie, I deeply miss Phoenix. I loved his character so much from Embrace that I was hoping he would come back into this book early on and stick around so I could watch him bring forth an edge to the story that in my opinion was what made Embrace so exciting. Since Phoenix is in the background most of the time and Violet explores her love of Linc more in this book I was a little upset. I really miss the dark, mysterious, and challenging side of the story that can only come from Phoenix having a larger and more up front role in the book. I needed that touch of my truly dark man in order to bring this story to life for me. So sadly I’m not as in love with Entice as I would have wanted to be.
Although I’m not as in love with this book as I was with Embrace there is still a great story and a great cast of characters to talk about. I felt the plot was a little slow to start but I like that certain things took some time to develop into a bigger plot line. It seems some things that were missing in the plot line of Embrace got picked up with Entice. The story is about more than just the characters this time around which I really enjoyed reading about. I like all of the little workings that go on behind the scenes when you have so many Grigori battling against the Exiles. I don’t know why but I always loved the power struggle against good and evil, light and dark so this angel series hits those points for me. I also have to give a big thumbs up to Shirvington for introducing a new cast of characters. They all had their own personalities and they all had something special to offer the story. I really liked Spence because he was a bit of comic relief to the story. Sometimes Violet gets way too wrapped up in her feelings for Linc and I felt that Spence was nice to add to the story to provide less drama. (Yes, I know Phoenix loving girl right here who refuses to like the fact that Violet spends way too much time in this book obsessing over stupid Linc when there is a hot MAN named Phoenix who in my opinion has so much more to offer!)
Overall, I think you all get that I really missed Phoenix, he was honestly my biggest character draw from the first book so I’m torn that he wasn’t featured more often in this book. I guess I shall just have to settle for a great storyline that really pulled me in this time and a great cast of supporting characters that I hope will continue to help add to the story in the books to come. I’m still enjoying this series and it has to be the best angel series I have ever read.
